For this paper, you will pick a course related topic to discuss, but one that is not a specific topic addressed in our readings. Be creative! I do not want you to reiterate the readings, but choose a topic and expand on it. Some examples are given below, but it is recommended that you choose to write on a topic you have already encountered or you have thought about previously. Of necessity, the instructions for this assignment are somewhat vague. Each student will have to explore different resources and will need to develop an individual approach to the subject. The goal is a brief but detailed exploration of some narrowly defined aspect of Interviewing Practices.

Identify, specifically, the strengths of your topic and what some weaknesses are. Drawing on various sources, explain the details of your topic. Assume I know nothing about this topic and share your research on it with me. Why is it important? What have you learned? What are the Pro’s and Con’s? When would this be used? What is the history on this topic?

Research papers are generally divided into two main categories: informative or argumentative. Informative papers generally demonstrate your understanding of a subject, simply reflecting what information is out there. Or you can choose to write an argumentative paper. You could information, offering commentary and opinions though taking no clear position, or you may offer a solution to a problem or argue that a law is having an unwanted effect.

The more specific you can be the better, and feel free to include examples that will strengthen your account.

Sustainability performance and practices of British Heart Foundation

Assignment Brief

Assessment Information – What you need to do
This assignment is an individual assignment.    This assignment requires you to write a report on The British Heart Foundation which is a charity organisation in the United Kingdom. It funds research to beat heartbreak from the heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors. Task 1: Critically evaluate the sustainability performance and reporting practices of BHF employing the most relevant Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) indicators, using BHF’s annual reports of recent years (i.e., 2020 and 2021. BHF’s annual reports can be accessed through the following links: https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/annual-report-2021   https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/annual-report-2020 https://www.heartfoundation.org.au/about-us/annual-reports  Task 2: Using a stakeholder theoretical framework, critically assess the trends in and patterns of the sustainability performance and reporting of BHF in recent years. In other words, you need to determine the recent trends and patterns of BHF sustainability performance and then critically discuss how government, shareholders, and civil society organisations, among others, contributed to this trend in such performance. Support your answer with citations from BHF’s annual reports and relevant literature. Task 3: Given the charitable nature of non-profit organisations, someone might argue that BHF will never be interested in achieving all three sustainability areas (economic,  social and environmental areas). To what extent do you agree or disagree with that statement? Support your answer with citations from BHF’s annual reports and relevant literature.

Core Values, their values, and the role that they play in our society and in our professional and personal lives.

Overview

The readings and learning activities for this week have focused on core values, their origins, and the role that they play in our society and in our professional and personal lives. For this essay, you will reflect on the readings and the class discussions on core values.

Content

In this essay you will identify and explain 3-5 of your core values.
You will also discuss the origins of these core values.
Organization

Include an introductory paragraph, where you grab the reader’s attention, provide a transitional statement, give a clear thesis statement, and map out the 3-5 key points that will support your thesis. (review elements of an introduction)
Include 3-5 body paragraphs where you include details and examples to help you develop and support your key points. (review body paragraph structure)
End your essay with a concluding paragraph where you restate your thesis, summarize your key points, and leave the reader with the “so what?” (review successful concluding paragraphs)
Grammar and Mechanics

Your paper should be written according to the standards for academic writing, with attention to the following:
punctuation: this includes things such as recommended use of commas, colons, and apostrophes.
word-level accuracy: this includes things such as capitalization, spelling, word-tense, and usage.
sentence-level accuracy: this includes things such as sentence boundaries, subject-verb agreement, and pronoun-antecedent agreement.
It is appropriate to use first person (“I”) when writing about yourself. Unless you are directly addressing the reader, avoid second person (“you”).
Take time to proofread after you’ve written your essay. Think about the kinds of writing mistakes you tend to make (like using “text-speak” or sentence fragments) and watch out for those. Reading your paper aloud is a good way to catch any mistakes.
