What kinds of objects are used in the service, either by clergy or lay people? What do those objects mean, or represent?

Your site visit paper should be 1000 words, and written as a first person narrative based on your experience of attending a service of a religion other than the one you were raised in. Because the majority of you were raised as some type of Christian, no one my attend any kind of Christian service without my prior permission. If you were not raised Christian you may not attend any kind of service of the tradition you were raised in (but you still need to clear Christianity with me). If you have any questions about whether or not a particular service or tradition is appropriate for you and/or this assignment, ask before you go! This is NOT a research paper, and no outside reading (beyond class assignments) is required. If you do choose use outside sources, you MUST to cite them. Both Chicago and MLA styles of citation are fine, just be sure to use the one you choose correctly. If you ask a friend, family member, or someone at the service questions about what you’re observing definitely include those! You can cite them by saying, “My friend Cory told me that object x represents y, and is used in the following ways” or, “the person I sat next to told me XX”.

TOPIC: For this site visit I would like you to focus on the theme of material objects (such as books, candles, bells, statues, rugs, art, clothing etc). What kinds of objects are in the space that the service is held in? What kinds of objects are used in the service, either by clergy or lay people? What do those objects mean, or represent? Where are they located, and what does their location tell you about their use or importance? Are they treated in a special or particular manner? If so, why? You should weave your observations about the objects in with your description of the service and your experience. Be sure to include the date and place of the service you attended at the start of your essay.

Personal Health and Wellness

DISCUSSION BOARD
The Aging Process
The aging process is a complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors; therefore each individual ages differently. For example, changes in body composition, body weight, and body systems are common effects of aging. It is essential for those who are aging to maintain a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of disease and infection. However, the end result of aging inevitably is death. Appropriate preparation for death contributes to well-being of family and friends and brings peace of mind to the dying. For this Discussion, consider the impact of aging on personal health and wellness and the importance of preparing for death. To prepare for this Discussion: Review Chapter 14 in Health: The Basics, 10th edition. Pay particular attention to aging and preparing for death. Complete the Chapter 14 Personal Health Assessment “Are You Afraid of Death?” in Health: The Basics, 10th edition. Think about preparing for death. Review the media “Dimensions of Health Wheel.” Select two dimensions of health and consider how the aging process might affect each of them. With these thoughts in mind: Select one of the two Discussion Questions. By Day 4, post a brief description of the two dimensions of health you selected. Then explain how the aging process might affect those dimensions. Finally, describe one strategy you might recommend to improve or enhance the two dimensions of health you selected for someone who is aging. OR By Day 4, post an example of a situation in which preparation for death was either adequately planned or inadequately planned. Explain the results and the impact of those results on family and friends. Finally, explain how this situation might influence your own preparations for death and dying. _____________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________ RESOURCES Donatelle, R. Create a project proposal summary intended to describe high-level elements of the project.

Project Proposal Scenario: You are researching a business development idea for your company. The project should apply IT technology to your company processes to improve your business. Suggested IT business development ideas include implementing an eCommerce solution for a commercial or consumer website, a customer relationship sales/support system (CRM), or collaboration technology to improve company and customer communication and information flow. The first step in creating a high-level Information Technology (IT) project plan is to develop a project proposal summary of your IT project in the context of your business proposal. The project proposal summary is intended to describe high-level elements of the project. The project proposal summary is a working document, which is expected to change over time during the course as new project details emerge. Your audience for this document is your organization’s board of directors, and you are seeking their approval. Send a 2- to 3-sentence private message to the facilitator describing your IT project proposal and proceed with the assignment after you receive instructor approval. Create a project proposal summary in a maximum of 700 words that includes the following information regarding your chosen enterprise, described in a short paragraph of 2 to 4 sentences per bullet: A brief description of your proposed IT project (What are you planning to do?) A description of the business reason for the project (Why do you want to do it?) How does executing this project make your company better/different/special? (Differentiation) What is the competition doing to solve this problem or add this capability? Explain the consequences if the project is not performed. (What if we don’t do it?) What is the approximate budget, return on investment (ROI), and schedule? If possible, include a brief description of potential risks. Ask the board for approval for a specific amount by a certain date. Format consistent with APA guidelines.

What is the main story you are trying to tell with this paper? Seven-eight minutes works better for communicating an example of your theory than a lecture of the theory itself.

As far as the number of slides you should include, there is no magic number since the content you’ll have and how you talk will vary. But if you have more than 15 slides, then there better be a big reason. Don’t take us through every twist and turn of your beautifully crafted paper. What is the main story you are trying to tell with this paper? Seven-eight minutes works better for communicating an example of your theory than a lecture of the theory itself. Assume everyone has actually read everything I assigned and go from there. Use proper APA in-text citations and include reference slide at the end. The final paper that this presentation is based off can be found in additional materials.
