Evaluate election campaigns as practiced in the United States and Texas. What purpose do you think they should serve?

General instructions for all essays. The essay should be 3-5 double-spaced, typewritten pages or 6-10 double-spaced, handwritten pages.   Draw on assigned readings, lectures, any outside sources that you want to use, and your own ideas and knowledge. Relate what you say specifically to what weve covered in the course. If you use facts that dont come from your own personal experience, you should formally cite an outside source. Whenever you use material from someone else on any assignment, including the use of handouts and textbook, you must formally cite it. Use MLA or APA format, and always use a form that explicitly connects a particular item in your paper with a particular source it’s not enough to simply list sources at the end. Also, on the Works Cited page, explain why you chose the sources you did. Why do you think they are reliable? Give examples. State your conclusions clearly, and support them with specific reasons – logic and evidence.   Address more than one side to the question. Consider possible objections to your conclusion.   Most students who do poorly do so because they ramble aimlessly, because they make assertions without support, because their essays are too general or trite, or because they fail to answer the question asked. I will not formally grade grammar or spelling, but it is difficult to express your ideas without good composition. Original thinking is also important, especially if you want an A.       Specific instructions for this question. Take about one page (two pages handwritten) to discuss what election campaigns in Texas are like today (in the course of doing this, define an election campaign). Give examples. Then, in about two pages, answer the following questions: Evaluate election campaigns as practiced in the United States and Texas. What purpose do you think they should serve? Do they serve this purpose adequately? Would you change campaigns in any way? Why? If you would not change them, why not? In the course of answering this question discuss at least two major criticisms often made of campaigns.

Do you think visionary leaders are needed in every organization? Why or why not?

Background Leaders of today can be categorized by their various leadership styles, but all successful leaders have one thing in common: they are visionaries. For example, Presidents Bill Clinton, John Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan; high-tech giants Steve Jobs and Bill Gates; and world figures such as Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King all had visions far larger than themselves and the role they played.  For example, Gandhi is single-handedly responsible for returning India to home-rule after centuries of being ruled by Great Britain. Martin Luther King is considered to be the father of the civil rights movement in the United States. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs revolutionized the technology industry with their MS-DOS and Windows software, and the iPhone, respectively. Each of these leaders constructed a vision that was creative, clear, and concise, and that also complemented the organization’s culture and strategy. They all possessed the foresight to plan strategically for potential opportunities and threats, and once they constructed their vision, they were able to influence people, implement policies and procedures, and execute on the vision (i.e., turn that vision into action). One key thing with visionary leaders is that they are the creative geniuses behind the vision, and nearly all of them lead by example.  Which brings us to the next point: Microsoft certainly isn’t the company that it was after Bill Gates stepped down – will that same fate happen with Apple now that Steve Jobs is no longer running the company? Required Reading Please review The 100 most influential people according to TIME. To see the full list, click on “Full List” on the top banner, or choose from one of the selected lists such as “Pioneers”, “Titans” or “Leaders”. The 100 Most Influential People (2016). TIME. Retrieved from http://time.com/collection/2016-time-100/ Case Assignment Select a leader from the TIME list who you consider to be an outstanding example of visionary leadership. The descriptions are short, so you may need to look at several before you find the person you want. Conduct some additional research on this person. Then write a 5- to 6-page paper where you: Analyze your subject leader’s style and explain why this leader is a visionary. Keys to the Assignment The key aspects of this assignment that, at a minimum, should be covered in your paper include: Why do you characterize this individual as visionary? Give specific examples. Based upon your research, analyze the added value this visionary leader brings to their organization or field. Do you think visionary leaders are needed in every organization? Why or why not? What business or environmental conditions particularly call for visionary leadership? Assignment Expectations Your paper will be evaluated using the following five criteria: Assignment-Driven Criteria (Precision and Breadth): Does the paper fully address all Keys to the Assignment? Are the concepts behind the Keys to the Assignment addressed accurately and precisely using sound logic? Does the paper meet minimum length requirements? Critical Thinking (Critical Thinking and Depth): Does the paper demonstrate graduate-level analysis, in which information derived from multiple sources, expert opinions, and assumptions has been critically evaluated and synthesized in the formulation of a logical set of conclusions? Does the paper address the topic with sufficient depth of discussion and analysis? Business Writing (Clarity and Organization): Is the paper well written (clear, developed logically, and well organized)? Are the grammar, spelling, and vocabulary appropriate for graduate-level work? Are section headings included in all papers? Are paraphrasing and synthesis of concepts the primary means of responding to the Keys to the Assignment, or is justification/support instead conveyed through excessive use of direct quotations? Effective Use of Information (Information Literacy and References): Does the paper demonstrate that the student has read, understood, and can apply the background materials for the module?  If required, has the student demonstrated effective research, as evidenced by the student’s use of relevant and quality sources? Do additional sources used in the paper provide strong support for conclusions drawn, and do they help in shaping the overall paper? Citing Sources: Does the student demonstrate understanding of APA Style of referencing by inclusion of proper end references and in-text citations (for paraphrased text and direct quotations) as appropriate? Have all sources (e.g., references used from the Background page, the assignment readings, and outside research) been included, and are these properly cited? Have all end references been included within the body of the paper as in-text citations? Tips and Suggestions Please note the following tips and suggestions: Include a cover page and reference page, in addition to the 5-6 pages of analysis described above. Include headings for all papers greater than 2 pages (basically all papers). Cite and reference all sources that you use in your work, including those that you paraphrase but do not quote. This means include citations and quotation marks for direct quotes of more than 5 words, and citations for that information which you have “borrowed” or paraphrased from other sources. Follow TUI Guidelines for well-written papers. Submit your analysis by the end of this module.

Elaborate on your design for using discriminant analysis or logistic regression analysis for your study.

Planning Discriminant Analysis or Logistic Regression Analysis In this project task, you will formulate a research question for your study that would be compatible with the use of either a discriminant analysis or logistic regression analysis of selected data. For this assignment, write a response to the following points: Identify one dependent variable (DV) or criterion variable and three predictor variables from your selected variable set that would fit the requirements of discriminant analysis or logistic regression analysis. Create new variables if you don’t have exactly what you would need to do this type of analysis. State your research question in a manner compatible with the selected type of classification analysis. Elaborate on your design for using discriminant analysis or logistic regression analysis for your study. Describe and justify the methods you propose for each of the following (discuss any possible concerns or limitations in the proposed methods): Determining sufficient sample size: Specify considerations for the selected alpha level, desired power, desired effect size, and the validation checks you may plan. Selecting a sample: How would you ensure representativeness? Performing statistical analyses: Include the method to be used and validation checks. Screening data and evaluating assumptions: Are any data transformations or modifications required? If yes, describe. Interpreting the outcomes in relation to the stated hypothesis(es). Present the response in Microsoft Word. Name the file R7034_M7_A2_LastName_FirstInitial.doc and submit it to the Discussion Area by the due date assigned. Through the end of the module, review your partner’s research question description and design for using a discriminant analysis or logistic regression analysis. Post a response addressing the following points: What are the challenges and strengths in the design of your partner? How does the design promote sample representativeness? What are your thoughts about the proposed sample size? How will the methods for analyses serve the goals of the study? All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources. Assignment 2 Grading CriteriaMaximum PointsAccurately identified one DV or criterion variable and three predictor variables that would fit the requirements of discriminant analysis or logistic regression analysis.8Accurately identified and described the research question for design in a manner compatible with the selected type of classification analysis.8Determined a procedure for planning a sample size appropriate to the scope of the study and the alpha level8Identified and clearly described any concerns or limitations of the plan.8Determined a procedure for sample selection consistent with the underlying assumptions of representativeness and identified any concerns and limitations in the plan.8Identified and justified the classification analysis method to be used and described a technique for validating the results.8Determined a procedure for data screening and the evaluation of assumptions and described any data transformations or modifications required.8Justified a method for interpreting outcomes in relation to the stated hypothesis(es).8Evaluated and critiqued partner’s plans indicating strengths and limitations in the design, sample size, sample selection, and the chosen method of analysis.16Wrote in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrated ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources, displayed accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Please compare and contrast the major types of random sampling and non-random sampling.

1-Please compare and contrast the major types of random sampling and non-random sampling. Why is random sampling the preferred method of getting a sample? 2-Explain the benefits and drawbacks to cross-sectional and longitudinal designs. 3-Explain why we need to operationalize (i.e., create operational definitions) for seemingly abstract concepts in the social sciences. Pick a social science variable (e.g., aggression, love, happiness) and operationalize it for a hypothetical study

Describe the organization and the basic health care services it provides.

Part 1 Choose a specific health care organization that has been in existence since the 1980s (e.g., a for-profit hospital by name; nonprofit hospital by name; governmental clinic; military or VA health care facility by name; private health care clinic by name; ambulatory surgery center by name; diagnostic imaging center by name; nursing home by name; assisted living facility by name). Describe the organization and the basic health care services it provides. Part 2 Analyze how this organization has changed since the 1980s as a result of economic and political forces (i.e., ethical and legal). You should identify a minimum of 3 significant changes from the 1980s to today that should include considerations for technology, personnel and professionals involved, patient demographics, supply and demand imbalance, and so on. Part 3 In summary, evaluate how these changes have impacted the organization’s efficacy (negatively and positively) from the administrator’s viewpoint. Then, proffer the influence of these changes on the U.S. health system overall (negative and positive). Your paper should be 3 to 4 pages excluding the cover page, abstract page, and reference page (common assessment). Be sure to support your work with at least 3 academic or professional peer-reviewed sources published within the past 5 years.
