search for research that has utilized analytical tools mentioned in the readings (i.e., single-sample ztest, t tests) and identify why that analysis was appropriate for the data.

Research articles are reviewed in many instances in life. You may review an article to serve as a reference for an academic paper, or you may review an article to simply gain additional information on a particular subject. It is important to understand the meaning of the statistical analysis presented in these articles. This exercise allows you to gain experience searching through the literature of published research.Using what you;ve learned from the weekly readings, search for research that has utilized analytical tools mentioned in the readings (i.e., single-sample ztest, t tests) and identify why that analysis was appropriate for the data.

Describe the “levels of evidence” and provide an example of the type of practice change that could result from each.

The levels of evidence are an important part of all evidence-based practice. Understanding the levels and why they are necessary to the research is a great way for the reader to become involved. There are different levels of evidence that begin at a level one being the most factual, and level four being either old information that is not relevant anymore, or it is not factual anymore through new evidence. It is important that the researcher read all levels because it provides a huge story line of where and how we got to the practices we perform today. A type of practice that could change the results from each level would be a new set of information that debunked the old information. Such as the urinary catheter research. It has just come out in recent years that the urinary catheter needs to be removed immediately to decrease the chances of infection. EBP relies very heavily on levels of evidence to maintain the best practices in nursing (Burns 2018). Using 200-300 words APA format with at least two references to support this discussion   Describe the “levels of evidence” and provide an example of the type of practice change that could result from each.

Explore how various emergent trends in healthcare affect nursing practice.

For this week’s discussion, you will be required only to submit the initial post.  There are no requirements for response posts to your classmates. Use the course learning objectives below to reflect on what you have learned over the past seven weeks. Examine the evolving issues in the national healthcare system. Explore how various emergent trends in healthcare affect nursing practice. Evaluate the role of the professional nurse in developing or changing healthcare policy. Differentiate between diverse ethical perspectives and develop an individual approach to bioethical problem-solving. Analyze current national and global issues and trends within the context of legal and ethical nursing practice. Pick one learning objective and give specifics about how what you learned will affect your nursing practice.  What contributed most to your learning? What would you suggest to other nurses to broaden their awareness of these issues? What direction would you like to see the profession of nursing go in response to this objective/issue? Use the literature to back up your thoughts.

Choose a disease/disorder of interest and provide a written summary describing the disease, the population at risk, known/suspected risk factors, the disease frequency, measures of mortality and morbidity, and measures of disease burden

Choose a disease/disorder (e.g. lung cancer, hypertension, etc.) of interest and provide a written summary (2-3 pages in length, single spaced, 1 margins, 12 point font) describing the disease, the population at risk, known/suspected risk factors, the disease frequency (incidence and prevalence), measures of mortality (if applicable) and morbidity, and measures of disease burden (e.g. DALYs,  YLDs). Figures and tables are encouraged. Use proper citations for referenced work. Credit will be deducted for failure to properly cite information sources. Notes: Do not choose a food-borne outbreak-related disease. Choose a disease/disorder/condition for which epidemiological data exist. It may be necessary to narrow your summary to a geographic region if the epidemiology of the disease/condition/disorder varies greatly across regions/countries. For example, HIV prevalence, risk factors, rates of mortality, etc. differ between developed and developing countries, and therefore, you may choose to summarize the epidemiology in one region/population.  Relevant source information comes from drafted reports and articles and official health-related websites, e.g. WHO, CDC. Avoid citing from the mainstream media directly, but rather cite the original source of the information.

Discuss the literature on split-brain and lateralization of function.

Answer the questions below completely and fully for full credit. This requires a minimum of two substantive paragraphs for each answer with a minimum total of 300 words for the combined paragraphs (not including the references). Use your learning resources and outside academic references (not Wikipedia!) to answer the questions completely. Support your answers with source credits (citations and references). Use APA formatting for all your work. Discuss the literature on split-brain and lateralization of function. What does the research tell us about each hemispheres ability to function independently (e.g., cognitively, creatively, etc.) and in unison? What are the implications for the cognitive neuroscientist in terms of research? Discuss one of the psychiatric disorders. Be sure to address both the physiological and behavioral aspects of the disorder (signs and symptoms, biochemical or genetic theories, etc.), and pharmacological and behavioral treatments for the disorder. What is the role of the biopsychologist or neuroscientist in this type of research? Discuss sleep in terms of the normal sleep cycle. Be sure to address the stages of sleep and physiological correlates associated with each stage. How does dreaming fit into our conception of a normal sleep cycle? Address theories of dreaming. What are the consequences of disruption of sleep?  Critically evaluate the theories that have been used to explain emotion. Which do you think is the best theory and why? What brain regions and neurochemical systems are known to be involved in the regulation of sleep? What is known about the neurobiology and endocrinology of circadian rhythms?

develop the following foundational components for a proposed analysis: A relationship research question involving GPA and GRE scores

Scenario: You are the new director of institutional research at a small state university, and you have been assigned the task of analyzing information for the dean of the School of Education regarding the performance of their undergraduate students on the often-controversial Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Many educators believe the GRE is a poor evaluator of undergraduate performance as well as a poor predictor of graduate school performance. The dean is considering eliminating the GRE from graduate school admissions requirements. The dean has already collected data on four variables: 1) gender, 2) grade point average (GPA), 3) GRE score, and 4) graduate degree completion frequency. Your job is to develop a proposed analysis to assist the dean to make an informed decision regarding the future use of the GRE. Using this information, develop the following foundational components for a proposed analysis: A relationship research question involving GPA and GRE scores; corresponding null and alternative hypotheses; the type of statistical analysis to be employed to determine significance; explanations of fictitious outcomes identifying both non-significant and significant relationships as related to both null and alternative hypotheses; and recommendations based on non-significant and significant findings. A relationship research question involving gender, GPA, and GRE scores; corresponding null and alternative hypotheses; the type of statistical analysis to be employed to determine significance; explanations of fictitious outcomes identifying both non-significant and significant relationships as related to both null and alternative hypotheses; and recommendations based on non-significant and significant findings. An effect research question involving gender and GRE scores; corresponding null and alternative hypotheses; the type of statistical analysis to be employed to determine significance; explanations of fictitious outcomes identifying both a non-significant and a significant effect as related to both null and alternative hypotheses; and recommendations based on non-significant and significant findings. An effect research question involving gender, GRE score, and degree completion frequency; corresponding null and alternative hypotheses; the type of statistical analysis to be employed to determine significance; explanations of fictitious outcomes identifying both a non-significant and a significant effect as related to both null and alternative hypotheses; and recommendations based on non-significant and significant findings. Finalize your report with a written analysis of your results and recommendations for the dean based on your findings. Support your assignment with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Does this perspective, namely, the subjective nature of personal religious experience, align well with both descriptive and interpretative approaches to phenomenology?

Heidegger’s concept of fallenness was appropriated by philosophical Christian theologians such as Karl Jaspers as a way of explaining the relationship between reality and our fallen condition as humans. Jaspers, in particular, implied that objectivity resulting from the scientific method could not explain all human knowing. Indeed, modern psychological inquiry into religious experience has shown that such experience may be personal by nature, not easily reduced to delineated objects of science. Does this perspective, namely, the subjective nature of personal religious experience, align well with both descriptive and interpretative approaches to phenomenology? Why or why not?
