Explain the differences between functional conflict and dysfunctional conflict
Instructions
Write a 3–4 page paper that addresses the following concerns from the project sponsor:
Step 1: The sponsor would like a summary of your project.
Summarize your project to date, including a message regarding the completion and implementation of the Communication Plan & Project Schedule.
Note: Do not repeat your introduction from the first assignment to avoid a high Safe Assign percentage.
Step 2: The sponsor is now asking for a report with not a lot of details.
Explain to the sponsor why a milestone report might be a more useful report and discuss at least three milestones for the project.
Step 3: The sponsor is confused about the communication plan completed earlier and is questioning its effectiveness.
Explain the format and content of the communication matrix and how it is being used to enhance communications among stakeholders.
Note: Chapter 4 in the course textbook discusses communication plans.
Step 4: As the project moves further into the execution process, conflict among stakeholders becomes more evident, and the project manager needs to address it. A good project manager understands that there are two types of conflict to be on the lookout for – functional and dysfunctional.
Explain the differences between functional conflict and dysfunctional conflict. Provide examples.
Step 5: Now, let us assume that the communications among team members continued to deteriorate to the point where some team members were authorized to work virtually from remote locations. Now that some team members are working virtually, new communication issues have surfaced.
Discuss tips for alleviating communication problems and enhancing the performance of virtual teams, while reassuring the sponsor that the situation is under control.
Note: Refer to Chapter 11 in the course textbook.

Post an obesity health promotion and prevention strategy a nurse could implement for a specific cultural group in the United States.
Week 6: The Role of the Nurse in Promoting and Preserving Health
It is common knowledge that a healthy lifestyle will lead to a longer life. Healthy individuals have strong immunity and are at limited risk for contracting some of the prominent diseases facing individuals in the United States, such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, orthopedic disorders, and cancer. The problems faced by Americans are not the same as those faced by individuals in other parts of the world. In fact, many people in the world struggle with problems on the opposite end of the spectrum, such as malnutrition, and iron, iodine, and folic acid deficiencies, which have a negative impact on reproductive, infant, and child health. The risk factors that increase in individuals who are not living healthy lives can challenge a nurse’s ability to build a healthier community and a healthier world.
In this, your final week of the course, you will identify health promotion strategies for addressing obesity and the chronic health issues that may result from obesity. You will explore how these issues affect health costs.
Learning Objectives
Students will:
Create health promotion and prevention strategies for addressing obesity
Analyze strategies nurses might implement to modify messages for obesity prevention that integrate cultural sensitivity
Analyze challenges nurses might face when modifying messages for obesity prevention and health promotion

Discussion: Obesity: A Global Health Concern
Obesity is a continuing challenge for citizens and health care providers in the United States, as you likely know. Obesity can lead to numerous chronic health problems, including heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Childhood diabetes is also increasing at a disconcerting rate, which will lead to an increased health care burden within a few short years. Current estimates set the cost of obesity on the U.S. health care system at $147–$210 billion per year (The State of Obesity, 2016). Think about this week’s media as you take a moment to consider obesity as a burgeoning global challenge.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Compare rates of obesity in the United States to other developed and also developing countries. Think about how health issues resulting from obesity compare as well.
Reflect on health promotion and prevention strategies that nurses can implement.
Contemplate the ethical, cultural, economic, political, and environmental issues a nurse should consider when developing a primary obesity health prevention strategy.
By Day 3
Post an obesity health promotion and prevention strategy a nurse could implement for a specific cultural group in the United States. Then, modify your message for use in one other country, being sensitive to the cultural nuances of the country you select. Describe why you chose to take the approach you did in your strategies and explain any challenges you anticipate a nurse may encounter when trying to implement these strategies.
Support your response with references from the professional nursing literature.
Note Initial Post: A 3-paragraph (at least 250–350 words) response. Be sure to use evidence from the readings and include in-text citations. Utilize essay-level writing practice and skills, including the use of transitional material and organizational frames. Avoid quotes; paraphrase to incorporate evidence into your own writing. A reference list is required. Use the most current evidence (usually ≤ 5 years old).
In 1,000-1,250 words, summarize the findings for each functional health pattern for the family you have selected.

Discuss other viewpoints or opposing viewpoints of the action.
This portion of your assignment will require you to research and examine information from various sources. Use a minimum of three credible sources for your paper, with three being an academic source from the Rasmussen College Online Library (don’t forget to include in-text citations throughout your paper with paraphrasing or quoting)
Make sure to include your APA formatted reference page.
Part II:Memos are not a thing of the past. Many organizations use memos as a way to share important information. Write a standard memo to your supervisor highlighting the key points of each arena (Hint: Microsoft Word has many memo templates). SkillSurfer in the online tutoring platform offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced tutorials on Microsoft Office products. Make sure to include the following in your memo:

Develop a 5-10 year strategic plan for achieving specific health care quality and safety improvements
Develop a 5-10 year strategic plan for achieving specific health care quality and safety improvements, based on the analysis you completed in Assessment 1. Use either an AI approach or your SWOT analysis and a chosen strategic planning model.
Introduction
Evaluation of strategic choices is important. The methods for selecting strategic alternatives help leaders organize significant issues to support decision making. However, it is important that the techniques do not make the decision. Rather, leaders should use the techniques to reveal the inherent situation and to organize their thought processes. This assessment provides you with an opportunity to evaluate and apply some of the techniques for successful strategy development and implementation.
Note: You will use your care setting environmental analysis as the basis for developing your strategic plan in this assessment.
Preparation
The feedback you received on your care setting environmental analysis has been positive. Consequently, you have been asked to select one of the potential improvement projects you noted in your analysis and create a full, 5–10-year strategic plan to achieve the desired quality and safety improvement outcomes. You will develop your strategic plan, using either an AI approach (addressing the design stage), or by building on your SWOT analysis and applying a strategic planning model of your choice.
How you structure your plan should be based on whether you are taking an appreciative inquiry approach or using a specific strategic planning model. Regardless of the approach you choose, the requester of the plan has asked that you address the key points outlined below in the strategic plan requirements. In addition, your plan should be 5–8 pages in length.
Note: Remember, you can submit all, or a portion, of your draft plan to Smarthinking for feedback before you submit the final version for this assessment. However, be mindful of the turnaround time for receiving feedback, if you plan on using this free service.
As you prepare to complete this assessment, you may want to think about other related issues to deepen your understanding or broaden your viewpoint. You are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of your professional community. Note that these questions are for your own development and exploration and do not need to be completed or submitted as part of your assessment.
Strategic planning models aid in setting goals, establishing time frames, and forging a path toward achieving those goals. Consider the strategic planning models you are familiar with:
Which model would you choose to create goals and outcomes that could address the area of concern you identified in your Assessment 1 SWOT analysis?
Why is this model the best choice among alternatives?
How does goal setting through appreciative inquiry provocative propositions differ from goal setting in the strategic planning model you selected?
How would you handle this situation from an ethical perspective?
Discussion Question:
A mother with a new set of female twins learns of a genetic test that can be done to determine if the children are carriers of the gene for breast cancer. She submits the sample to the company, receives the results in 2 weeks, and learns that one twin is at risk while the other is not. The mother takes this information to the infants’ pediatrician and asks for further testing on the child with the increased susceptibility and wants to know if preventative treatment can begin now. The mother also enters this information as patient-generated data which has created several red flags in the electronic record’s decision support system. The clinical staff are concerned since the patient with the risk for breast cancer is only weeks old. Answer the following questions regarding this case:
How would you handle this situation from an ethical perspective?
How will the mother having this knowledge about the infants affect the way they will be treated developmentally, medically, socially, and economically?
Should there be restrictions on the age of individuals receiving genetic testing through companies of questionable reputation?
