Explain the use of information management tools and technologies to monitor and improve outcomes.

Preparation
Search the Capella library and the Internet for scholarly and professional peer-reviewed articles on medical technology used to manage patients post-hospitalization. You will need at least three articles to use as support for your work on this assessment.
Directions
Assume you work in a rural health care center. The facility just received a generous grant from a health care foundation. The funds from this grant must be used to acquire new technologies to foster better health outcomes for residents who live in remote areas. The Director of Nursing has formed a committee to research types of patient care technologies that are available to manage and monitor patients upon their release from care. You have been asked to look into the different types of technologies available for patients who are discharged from the hospital and cannot travel hundreds of miles for frequent follow-up appointments. You were also asked to provide evidence-based research to support your selections.
Write a 3–4 page report for the committee that provides your findings:

Summarize the issues facing rural health care providers’ efforts to deliver quality care.
Explain the use of information management tools and technologies to monitor and improve outcomes.
Recommend three new technologies that improve patient outcomes post-hospitalization, in rural settings.
Support your recommendations for new technologies with evidence-based research.

Format this report following current APA style, paying close attention to headings and subheadings, paragraph structure, and proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Additional Requirements
Your report should meet the following criteria:

Contain between 750–1000 words (3–4 pages).
Include a minimum of 3 references. (These must be recent, from within the past five years.)
Be double-spaced in Times New Roman font, 12 point.

Assignment Instructions
Write a 750-1500 word “Learning Activity” based on the following assignment:
Scenario: You are teaching English Language Development (ELD) to a small group that includes the following: WIDA Level 3 Spanish speakers and WIDA Level 1 Portuguese speakers (at the grade level of your choice).
Now, follow the steps below to demonstrate your understanding of teaching and assessing ELLs at varying levels of proficiency:

Select a piece of literature (could be an authentic children’s book or young adult novel)
Select one concept you will teach this group using this piece of literature ( e.g. vocabulary words, a language pattern (such as rhyming), a grammatical structure ( adjective, irregular past tense…), a phonemic item ( how to pronounce a phoneme not found in students L1), idioms, syntax;
Describe how you will use the children’s literature, and any related multimedia resources, such as videos, apps, music, etc., to teach the new concept.
Describe one listening activity and one speaking activity (see Gottlieb, pages 96-106 for suggestions, or create your own) for students to complete during this 30-minute small group session.
Write a conclusion to your Learning Activity. Include connections to your own teaching practice and course content as it relates to your instruction and assessment of ELLs at varying levels of proficiency and from diverse language backgrounds.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are able to actually try out these activities with students, ELL or otherwise, you will gain valuable information about the quality of your listening and speaking activities. Try them out on your own children- or borrow a niece, cousin, or neighbor’s child- This is OPTIONAL! This could be done at any point in the Learning Log process, and you can include your comments in your conclusion.

Post a comparison of at least two APRN board of nursing regulations in your state/region with those of at least one other state/region.

Boards of Nursing (BONs) exist in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands. Similar entities may also exist for different regions. The mission of BONs is the protection of the public through the regulation of nursing practice. BONs put into practice state/region regulations for nurses that, among other things, lay out the requirements for licensure and define the scope of nursing practice in that state/region.
It can be a valuable exercise to compare regulations among various state/regional boards of nursing. Doing so can help share insights that could be useful should there be future changes in a state/region. In addition, nurses may find the need to be licensed in multiple states or regions.
To Prepare:
Review the Resources and reflect on the mission of state/regional boards of nursing as the protection of the public through the regulation of nursing practice.
Consider how key regulations may impact nursing practice.
Review key regulations for nursing practice of your state’s/region’s board of nursing and those of at least one other state/region and select at least two APRN regulations to focus on for this Discussion..
By Day 3 of Week 5
Post a comparison of at least two APRN board of nursing regulations in your state/region with those of at least one other state/region. Describe how they may differ. Be specific and provide examples. Then, explain how the regulations you selected may apply to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) who have legal authority to practice within the full scope of their education and experience. Provide at least one example of how APRNs may adhere to the two regulations you selected.

DESCRIBE THE MAJOR LIFE EVENTS OF THE THEORIST THAT YOU FEEL INFLUENCED HIS OR HER PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT.

DESCRIBE THE MAJOR LIFE EVENTS OF THE THEORIST THAT YOU FEEL INFLUENCED HIS OR HER PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT.

Assignment 1: Discussion—Television Character Television provides us with many interesting examples of interpersonal and neurotic behaviors. In this assignment, you will delve into the life and actions of some of your favorite television characters and analyze them using Horney’s coping strategies.
Interestingly, Horney’s three coping strategies for one’s neurotic needs correlate very well with three of Adler’s different personality types:

Horney’s moving-toward strategy—Adler’s getting or leaning type
Horney’s moving against—Adler’s ruling or dominant type
Horney’s moving away from—Adler’s avoiding type

Using Horney’s theory of coping with neurotic needs with three different interpersonal orientations, select a TV program of your choice containing a character that Horney would identify as exhibiting neurotic behaviors. As you watch a full episode of this show, focus on this character and tally each instance of moving-toward, moving-against, and moving-away behavior.
Research Horney’s theory using your textbook, the Internet, and the Argosy University online library resources. Based on your research, respond to the following:

Discuss this character’s neurotic needs and trends.
What do you think has happened in his/her life that has led to these behaviors?
In addition to general life events, how has gender and culture influenced the character’s neurotic needs and behaviors?
How do these interpersonal orientations impact the way this character interacts with others and develops relationships?

Write your initial response in 4–5 paragraphs. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

What is the problem of final integration of visual information?

The blind spot is the area on the retina without photoreceptors. Therefore, the part of an image that falls on this region will not be seen. It is in this region that the optic nerve exits the eye on its way to the brain. Humans may use different parts of their brain to discriminate objects from people. In particular, we may have specialized neurons for recognizing faces.
For this part of the assessment, answer the following questions. Use the Capella library to research the material and support your answers. Format your paper by using the questions as headings; do not incorporate the questions into the content of the answers.
1.What is the problem of final integration of visual information?
2.What kind of problem(s) does this present regarding our understanding of how the brain works?
3.Is this a problem that needs to be solved?
4.What research has been conducted into this issue? Are there any recent papers in the scientific literature that address this issue?

As an alternative, you may use the Internet to find information about the Stroop test, such as a demo video or articles that describe how it works and the various results people who have taken the test have experienced.
After you have finished the two tasks listed above or conducted your own research on the Stroop test, respond to the following. Use the headings below to organize this part of your paper.
1.Based on your own experience with the Stroop test or the research you conducted about it, explain which of the two tasks above would be harder and why.
2.Briefly explain the role of the anterior cingulate in audiovisual processing and the symptoms of brain injury to this area. Use the Capella library to research the material and support your answers.
3.Discuss whether a person with dyslexia or a brain injury would have more or less trouble with this task. Comment on how someone would do on this task if he or she did not speak English. What other observations did you have?
Below are the required headings for Part A of this assessment. These should stand alone and should not be incorporated into the content of the answer:
