Develop a detailed paper applying Porter’s Five Forces Model to the American automotive industry, with a focus on the U.S. market.
Complete your Research Project 2 in a Word document, APA formatted, and then submit it in the Assignment section of the classroom by midnight, EST, Day 7.The instructions concerning this assignment as well as the grading rubric are reproduced below. In 2009 the American auto industry was in a dire economic state. Chrysler was in Chapter 11, GM was on the brink of bankruptcy, and Ford’s future was at best uncertain. The demise of the U.S. auto industry would have a devastating impact on our national economy and specifically the economies of Michigan and Ohio. Economists occasionally use Porter’s five forces framework when making a qualitative evaluation of a firm’s strategic position. According to Porter, his model should be used at the industry level, defined as a marketplace in which similar or closely related products or services are marketed. This research paper requires the application of Porter’s Five Forces Model to the auto industry. Porter’s analytical framework consists of those forces that affect a producer’s ability to serve its customers and make a profit. A change in any of these five forces requires a re-assessment of the marketplace. The five forces include:1) The threat of substitute products: The existence of close substitute products (i.e., high elasticity of demand) increases the propensity of customers to switch to alternatives in response to price increases.2) The threat of the entry of new competitors: Unless there are significant barriers to entry, profitable markets that yield high returns will attract firms (i.e., perfect competition), effectively decreasing profitability.3) The intensity of competitive rivalry: As in the case of oligopoly markets, rivals may choose to compete aggressively, non-aggressively or in non-price dimensions.4) The bargaining power of customers: The ability of customers to put the firm under pressure due to availability of existing substitute products, buyer price sensitivity, uniqueness of the products, etc.5) The bargaining power of suppliers: The cost of factors of production (e.g. labor, raw materials, components, and services such as expertise) provided by suppliers can have a significant impact on a company’s profitability. As such suppliers may refuse to work with the firm or charge excessively high prices for unique resources.ReferencesPorter, M.E. In the past month, Dale has been involved in two physical altercations with prisoners, both of which were caused by Dale calling prisoners by racist names. Based on his work behavior, his supervisor referred him to counseling as a condition of his continued employment. Dale does not want to be in counseling, as he does not think that he needs to change anything, but he has attended the first session in order to maintain his employment.Dale was a police officer for 18 years and was terminated from the police force due to racial profiling and his inability to work collaboratively with his minority colleagues. After termination, he served as a bouncer at a local bar for 4 years but quit to pursue a job with higher income and medical benefits for his painful rheumatoid arthritis. Dale has worked in the prison system for 2½ years.Dale has been married twice. He was married to his first wife for 6 years and had one son from that marriage who is currently 21 years old. His son was raised primarily by his ex-wife, and Dale saw him on holidays and for 2 weeks during the summer. Dale no longer has contact with his son. Dale broke contact after his son brought home a Latina girlfriend; Dale states that the “Mexicans and Blacks are taking over his country but won’t take over his family.” Dale describes his ex-wife as a “lying whore” who he believes had multiple affairs during the marriage while he worked long hours as a police officer. He says she denies these accusations, but Dale says that “you can’t really trust women.” He also thinks she did a “terrible job” raising their son, and he described his son as a “big baby.”Dale has been married to his second wife, Anne, for 3 years. Anne works as a clerk at a grocery store in their small town. Anne does not have any children. Dale describes Anne as politically and socially “ignorant” and “very religious.” He says he trusts Anne because of her religious beliefs and that she is afraid to go to hell for sinning. Dale states that it is Anne’s religious beliefs that allow him to trust her not to be like most women who have affairs, spend their husband’s money, and lie a lot. He states she “knows her place” as his “property” and doesn’t disagree with him. Dale was raised by his mother in a rural community where he was the eldest of four children; his views mirror those of his father, a man who worked as a laborer to support his family.Dale states that he seeks out people who oppose his views so that he can try to convince them that the U.S.A. is a country for White, English speaking people only. When asked about this view, Dale shares that he grew up in extreme poverty and that “the lazy Blacks and Mexicans” got services and support while he had to “pull myself up by the bootstraps” to get to the middle class. Dale did not adopt extreme anger about these views until he started working in the prison, where many of the inmates are Black Americans and/or Hispanic Americans.
Write a paper (1,750-2,000 words) on cancer and approach to care based on the utilization of the nursing process.
Nursing Process: Approach to Care
The nursing process is a tool that puts knowledge into practice. Name two different methods for evaluating evidence. Compare and contrast these two methods.
Reply 1There are two methods when it comes to evaluating the evidence in nursing. These methods are:Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses
Systematic reviews are responsible for summarizing the results that are obtained from research that has been carried out, in our case, controlled trials in the health care sector (Gough& Richardson, 2018). It is from these summary that valid and reliable conclusions can be made on the matter under trial. Systematic reviews are done in such a way that the results of multipleprimary study cases that are strictly related to each other are synthesized by the use of strategiesthat are meant to eliminate biases and error margin (Gough & Richardson, 2018).Meta-analysis is a combination of numerical data from different primary sources that focusedon the same objective, to produce a single approximation based on all the sources (Burgess,Thompson & CRP CHD Genetics Collaboration, 2016). This estimation is more accuratebecause due to its nature of analyzing data from multiple sources. The researcher is in a positionto explain any inconsistencies in the case of their occurrence, quantify, and explore therelationship between the data (Burgess, Thompson & CRP CHD Genetics Collaboration, 2016).Furthermore, it is an efficient way of using pre-existing data.Systematic reviews are well-detailed and transparent, whereas meta-analysis is simplyanalyzing data implying the latter is a more time-consuming procedure (Hyun Kang, 2018).There are times where systematic reviews would contain statistical data, but a meta-analysescannot include any overviews. Systematic reviews can consist of a narrative synthesis thatcombines data that are very different, while meta-analysis cannot be used to analyze data that vary from each other. For instance, the age of children in a specific region only, without some other cases.ReferencesBurgess, S., Thompson, S. G., & CRP CHD Genetics Collaboration. (2016). Compare and contrast these two methods .According to Joseph (2019), the two methods of evaluating evidence are quantitative and qualitative approach. The quantitative methodology entails assessing the data and comparing the various measurements used in the study under consideration. Standard deviation, mean or average, and other statistical parameters are some of the metrics used in quantitative evidence evaluation. Furthermore, the quantitative requirements must be measured or use formal procedures for prediction, ensuring objectivity of the outcome and the variables used. The assessment of the processes, meanings, experiences, and perceptions that research participants, including patients, have toward a particular variable under review is part of the conceptual framework used in qualitative ways of assessing evidence. As a result, no quantitative parameters are used in the qualitative method. Interpretation and application of emphatic comprehensions are used to assess relevant information, implying that the findings and variables are reliant on the research study’s context.ReferenceJoseph. propose a behavioral intervention plan for a student based on the information provided in
Teachers must employ a variety of assessments, instructional strategies, and intervention techniques to support their students who are displaying behaviors that are getting in the way of successful learning in the classroom. If initial classroom management efforts are unsuccessful in helping such a student, then it is often determined that the situation warrants a behavior plan. For a behavior plan to be successful, it is imperative that stakeholders collaborate to support the student in reducing the occurrence of challenging behaviors and increasing appropriate behaviors. When appropriate, the student should also be involved in the development of the behavior plan. Providing students with choices and involving them in decision-making aids in the development of self-advocacy and self-determination.For this benchmark, you will propose a behavioral intervention plan for a student based on the information provided in “Student Scenario: Joseph.” Use the “Proposal for Behavior Change Template” to complete this assignment.Part 1: Data Collection and Definition of Student BehaviorDescribe Joseph’s behaviors on the ABC chart using the “Proposal for Behavior Change Template” provided. Create one measurable, observable operational definition for Joseph’s challenging behavior.Part 2: Analysis of Data The hypothesis is a best guess of the cause of the function of behavior that summarizes the observations. It includes the when (antecedent or trigger), the what (behavior of student), and the why (outcome student’s target behavior: attention, tangible, or escape).Part 3: Intervention Ideas and Replacement BehaviorsBased on your analysis of the FBA data and the operational definition for Joseph’s behavior, identify an appropriate replacement behavior.Part 4: Proposed Intervention PlanPropose an intervention plan that outlines one goal for Joseph and includes the following:Be sure to incorporate appropriate intervention and replacement behavior ideas identified in Part 3.Part 5: Reflection In a 250-500 word summary reflect upon how you, in your future professional practice, will ensure formal and informal assessments of student behaviors are unbiased and technically sound, considering culture, language, gender, and ability differences.Support your template responses with 1-2 scholarly resources.
