Address the concept of ‘algorithmic bias’ in a marketing context.

First one

In  recent years, many firms use algorithms to help make management group’s  decisions and optimize operation processes and supply chains. When such  algorithms produce unexpected outcomes, bias concerns may arise. Thus,  removing these kinds of bias from the data is so critical in data-driven  business. Based on this case anlaysis, please elaborate on the  questions below.

Q1) Please address the concept of ‘algorithmic bias’ in a marketing context. What is the reason behind the bias in this case?

Q2)  How might a firm acquire capability to analyze situations and detect  whether algorithmic bias occurs and how it can be mitigated?

Q3)  Algorithmic bias can occur even when demographic data is not used as a  variable by the algorithm. What would you play a role as an information  sysem manager if a bias was brough to your attention?

Second One:

The  role of the database and data administrator have evolved over  time. They continue to evolve in light of new technologies such as  blockchain, IoT, and security-based solutions. What do you believe the  future job description will look like for a database engineer in 5-10  years from now?

Please create your OWN job description. Do not copy that of others.

Explain the causes of these issues and then compare and contrast the international management of them.

1) Two problems of the atmosphere have become major international issues—global warming and depletion of the ozone layer. Explain the causes of these issues and then compare and contrast the international management of them. What has led to success or failure in managing these issues? What might be done to overcome the failures? In your answer, consider the logic of the “tragedy of the commons.”

2)Few effective international agreements have been reached to solve the problem of global warming. Given the severe difficulties associated with managing this problem, what creative international solutions can you think of? What would be the strengths and weaknesses of your solutions in the short term and in the long term?

3)Explain the relationship between the environment and international security. What role does the environment play in this equation? What evidence do we have that there is any relationship at all? Is it significant enough to warrant the attention of IR scholars and practitioners? Why, or why not?

4)What does cultural imperialism mean? Is it real? Who should be concerned about its consequences? What, if anything, should be done about it? If nothing should be done about it, why not? Support your answer with empirical and logical evidence

5)According to the text, “new international political possibilities arise from technological developments”. What exactly does this mean? What are the implications of advancing technology—pros and cons? What are the costs and benefits for states and citizens of these developments?

Describe the rationale for your novel theoretical intervention

Topic: Vaccines, fear, lack of access in low income communities

Design a novel intervention that is a logical conclusion based upon your literature review of existing intervention studies.

In your paper,

  • Describe the rationale for your novel theoretical intervention.
  • Create a logic model figure to showcase the intervention, its activities, elements or components, and its outcomes.
  • See attachment for example
  •  For guidance on using the SmartArt tool in Microsoft Word, view the video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hna1uJN1-qY&t=21s

NOTE: Utilize PowerPoint and SmartArt (under Insert) to create logic model. Typically, the ‘Process’ options or ‘Hierarchy’ options are most effective.

  • Describe the framework used to create your logic model (i.e., the theoretical constructs that were targeted and integrated), behavior change techniques, the intervention components, and strategy.

Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Your introduction paragraph needs to end with a clear thesis statement that indicates the purpose of your paper

Compare and contrast the growth and developmental patterns of two toddlers of different ages using Gordon’s functional health patterns

Compare and contrast the growth and developmental patterns of two toddlers of different ages using Gordon’s functional health patterns. Describe and apply the components of Gordon’s functional health patterns as it applies to toddlers.

Paraphrasing activity – “letter from a birmingham jail”

For this assignment, you will use Martin Luther King, Jr.’s, “Letter  from a Birmingham Jail” to help you practice the important rhetorical  skill of paraphrasing.

Original Document
http://okra.stanford.edu/transcription/document_images/undecided/630416-019.pdf

Audio Recording
http://okra.stanford.edu/transcription/audio/630416001.mp3

Be sure to address the following:

  • State the purpose of the letter. Be sure to paraphrase the speech throughout your analysis.
  • Describe one strategy for development of the letter. This should be  one that you identify with or think is effective. Base your description  on this Module’s readings and the course activities you participated in.
  • Remember that your paraphrase should end up being about the same  number of words as the original material that you cite. Please note that  you are not paraphrasing the entire document but more like a sentence  or two. This is similar to what you might do with a quote, but with your  own words. A paraphrase is not the same as a summary.
  • Explain why you think the strategy is effectively used in the letter.
  • Incorporate at least one quote from the speech, and properly cite the quote on the References page.
  • Explain how you plan to use the development strategy in your Portfolio Project.

Requirements:

  • Your written paper should be two to three pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages, which you must include.
  • You must accurately insert a quote and paraphrase in your analysis  to provide in-text evidence from the essay or article you selected, and  you must comment on the quote to demonstrate you are thinking in a  critical manner.
  • Your paper must be formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA.
Assignment: Video Role-Play: Strengths and Weaknesses of the DSM-5

Assignment: Video Role-Play: Strengths and Weaknesses of the DSM-5

Though the DSM-5 is the standard manual for mental illness diagnoses, it is not without weakness. In this Assignment, you analyze the strengths and limitations of the DSM-5 diagnostic system, and you differentiate between normal behavior and diagnosable symptoms using the concepts of dimensionality and spectrum.

To prepare: Review the concept of the dimensional approach with the DSM-5 and review the methods that the DSM-5 recommends to individualize where a person fits on a continuum of their illness in terms of subtypes, severity, and functional impairments. You will find these classifications in different parts of the manual and begin to be comfortable looking through it.

Next, imagine the following scenario:

You are a school social worker who has been asked to address a parent-teacher association meeting. Many parents in the audience have children who have been identified for special education services. They are confused about how to understand the diagnoses they are seeing. Others have worries about overdiagnosis. You have been advised that while these parents are generally well-informed, many don’t understand the dimensional or spectrum aspects. All are worried.

You will start your video with your introductory talk to the parents on these factors. After you provide your explanation, imagine that you open the meeting to questions. You will address the question noted below that is posed by a parent in the audience. Consider your audience, and practice explaining in terms a non-professional might understand. Do NOT read from the book.

Review the questions (in the Assignment instructions below) ahead of time and plan your answer before recording, as you will need to look up and integrate materials to answer the chosen question.

By Day 7

Submit a 3- to 5-minute video, considering the parents as your audience, in which you do the following:

  • Briefly describe what the DSM-5 is and how it is organized. In your description, define the concepts of spectrum and dimensionality as explained by Paris and in the DSM-5 introduction.
  • Explain why social workers and mental health professionals use diagnoses and what receiving a diagnosis means (and does not mean).
  • Explain general concerns about the risks of overdiagnosis and misdiagnosis versus not diagnosing. Also explain how diagnosis is connected to services.
  • Explain other details that might help your audience understand the strengths and weaknesses of the diagnostic system.
  • Provide a response to the following parental questions:
    • My teenager’s best friend died by suicide this year. It’s been months, and she doesn’t seem over it. Her teachers tell me she should get help for depression, but I think it’s just grief. She talks about her friend all the time and gets very upset. I am worried about her. Is it normal for her to still be feeling this way? I don’t want to put her on medication for normal feelings. What is the difference between grief and depression?
