Language Development Interview
Assignment
Language Development Interview
Much of the knowledge we gain comes from our learning and personal experiences. For this assignment, you will spend time talking with an experienced preschool teacher or, if you are currently a preschool teacher, you can answer the questions yourself. Your assignment is to select five questions regarding the support of language acquisition and language developmental stages in the classroom. Please review these possible questions that could guide your interview or you can create your own questions.
For this project, choose one of the following methods of completion:
Option 1
- Identify five questions that you could ask someone with preschool experience about how they support language acquisition for the stages of development in the classroom. Document the interview. You can record the interview (with permission) or you can write your questions and answers.
- Analyze the provided answers using your knowledge gained, the textbook, and at least one other resource to substantiate or refute their answers. You can provide elaboration for or against their responses further strengthening your own understanding.
- Summarize and explain three ways you will meet the needs of children in this stage to support their language development using the provided answers and your knowledge.
Option 2
- Identify five questions that you may be asked in a future interview regarding how you will support language acquisition for the stages of development in your future professional role. Document the interview. You can record a mock interview or you can write your questions/answers.
- Analyze your own answers using your knowledge gained and information from the textbook and at least one other resource to substantiate your writing.
- Summarize and explain three ways you will meet the needs of children in a developmental stage of your choice to support their language development using your knowledge of language acquisition.
The interview can be submitted as a video, an audio recording, or a Microsoft Word document (which would be two to three pages in length).
How do they keep their poems from being about themselves?
Part I: The poets chosen for this week are among the leading poets of contemporary American literature; however, there are many others. Locate and read four poems by a Postmodern American author of your choice from the included list below. How do you see this author as fitting into post-modernism? Be sure to connect with the poems you selected. Doing some biographical research may also be helpful. Be sure to share the link(s) to the poems you read.
Here is the list:

Part II: One contemporary trend in poetry is known loosely as the “confessional mode,” in which the poet’s own life becomes an important element of the subject of his or her poetry. The three assigned poets clearly work in the confessional vein to some extent. How do they keep their poems from being about themselves? Use the poem That Country” written by Eileen Myles,
Part III. You probably know John Grisham better from his novels than from his journalistic essays. In what ways does his magazine essay, included in our text, seem “fictional” to you–not necessarily fictional in the sense of things being made up, but rather in terms of style or writing technique?
what have you learned about statistics?
The Final Paper provides you with an opportunity to integrate and reflect on what you have learned during the class.
The question to address is, what have you learned about statistics? In developing your responses, consider—at a minimum—and discuss the application of each of the course elements in analyzing and making decisions about data (counts and/or measurements).
The course elements include
- Descriptive statistics.
- Inferential statistics.
- Hypothesis development and testing.
- Selection of appropriate statistical tests.
- Evaluating statistical results.
The Final Paper
- Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style
Women and men rights
After reading the document “how to write a case brief.” You may still have questions on how to write a case brief. The document notes that “While opinions may vary, four elements that are essential to any useful brief are the following:
(a) Facts (name of the case and its parties, what happened factually and procedurally, and the judgment)
(b) Issues (what is in dispute)
(c) Holding (the applied rule of law)
(d) Rationale (reasons for the holding)”
For the purpose of this assignment I would start with the case name and date (so you can put them in chronological order per unit and see how the courts’ opinions have changed over time). Then you should present the facts, legal question at issue, holding and then rationale. Make sure to label each part for each case brief clearly and bold the subheading. Make sure to spend adequate time on the rationale of the courts decision. It is often the most important element of the case.

Theme of revenge in Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ , ‘Macbeth’ , and ‘Hamlet’
Purpose: to explore and develop a presentation to demonstrate why Shakespeare’s plays are relevant in the contemporary world. In this project, you will address the importance of Shakespeare’s literary contributions to contemporary culture by creating a presentation that addresses the following situation:
Imagine that you are addressing a group about the importance and relevance of Shakespeare to our own time. Your job is to convince the group of Shakespeare’s ongoing importance by providing a close reading of three plays, with special focus on one related theme they all share. For the purposes of this course, you must remember that the theme of a work is the underlying message that the author wants to make about a particular subject. For example, Shakespeare writes about the subject matter of love in various ways in his plays; however, the specific statement that he makes about love contains a similar message. You must choose two of these plays from our syllabus; the third does not have to be. Your job is to examine each play in detail, providing a close reading and interpretation that demonstrates (1) the theme and (2) the importance of the theme to your specific contemporary audience.
Audience: Choose the audience for your presentation from among the following.
– The local school board that is meeting to decide whether to continue to include Shakespeare’s plays in the high school curriculum
– A college English department that is considering creating a new themed Shakespeare course
– A group of donors who are considering the funding of a new Shakespeare theater
– A group of film producers who are considering creating a themed series of films of Shakespeare’s plays. (Feel free to consider existing films of Shakespeare’s plays.)
– A group of government or political officials who are considering policy that you feel could be illuminated by a consideration of Shakespeare’s plays
– A group of videogame producers who are considering creating a videogame that explores the theme in question in Shakespeare’s plays
You must use a minimum of five scholarly sources. At least four sources must be from school databases.
Your presentation will need to state a clear thesis and will make an argument about the materials you are presenting. It should also contain an introduction and a conclusion, as well as a Works Cited page.
You must use at least five sources in the final presentation. You do not have to use the same scholarly sources you included in the Annotated Bibliography, but be sure at least four are from the school database, and that all sources pertain directly to Shakespeare. Cite all sources in the presentation using MLA style (8th edition), both in in-text parenthetical citations and in a Works Cited page.
Instructions:
Length: The paper will be from six to eight pages double-spaced in Times Roman 12 (1,500 to 2,000 words) not including the Works Cited page.
You will examine the way this theme operates in each of the three plays you will consider, using specific scenes and incidents to support your view of how the theme operates in each work. Your overarching goal in discussing the theme in these plays is to demonstrate the importance of Shakespeare’s work to your audience. For example, if you are addressing a school board, you will use the plays and their shared theme to show how important Shakespeare’s work is for students’ learning. If you are addressing the potential theater donors, you will use the plays and their theme to show why Shakespeare is relevant to contemporary audiences.
Choosing a Costing Model
Describe an industry where you would like to work that manufactures products. You may choose anything that interests you. It would be helpful if you research the manufacturing process for the company you choose. Which cost system would be justifiable as a manager in that company, and which would you choose if you oversaw cost systems in that company. Explain your reasoning based on material you have read in this module.
