implication for society if children do learn predominantly by imitation.

The nature/nurture debate within psychology is concerned with the extent to which particular aspects of behavior are a product of either inherited (genetic) or acquired (learned) characteristics. This exercise will help you explore that debate by looking at one specific behavior, aggression.

Bandura’s (1977) social learning theory states that aggression is learned from the environment through observation and imitation (nurture). He concludes this, in part, from the results of his famous Bobo doll experiment (Bandura, 1961). Review the Bobo experiment here: Bobo Experiment.

Reflect on the following issues:

  • Where do you stand on the nature/nurture debate? Is aggression a learned behavior? Please provide specific examples to your point of view.
  • Discuss your thoughts on the experiment and its relevance to the debate. Do you see any potential flaws or underlying factors that may not be reflected in the analysis here?
  • Suggest at least one implication for society if children do learn predominantly by imitation.

Write a 2–3 page paper (not including the title page and reference page) referencing at least two sources (you may cite the website provided here for the Bobo doll experiment as one of your sources. Refer to the Bobo doll experiment, but do not summarize it.)

Use current APA Style and include a title page and reference page

sociology discussion

Here is your chance to discuss sexuality in modern society. Using the resources in the module, discuss how you believe sex and sexuality could change (if at all) in the coming decades.

Some possible questions to consider:

Does the virtual space change questions of fidelity?

Can virtual relationships replace physical connections?

How much of who we are lies in the brain versus the body?

Is cyber sex.. sex?

How does a virtual society modify gender norms, if at all?

Feel free to really explore your own thoughts using all you’ve learned throughout the semester. I am interested to see what you come up with!

Evaluate the three major approaches to analyzing the economic impact of currency depreciation

In a critical essay, analyze how currency depreciation stimulates exports. Evaluate the three major approaches to analyzing the economic impact of currency depreciation: the elasticities approach, the absorption approach, and the monetary approach. Compare and contrast the three approaches and provide examples that distinguish them from each other.

Directions:_

  • Your essay is required to be five to six pages in length, which does not include the title page and reference pages, which are never a part of the content minimum requirements.
  • Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least three scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles. Use the Saudi Digital Library to find your resources.
  • Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and follow APA style guidelines.
  • It is strongly encouraged that you submit all assignments into Turnitin prior to submitting them to your instructor for grading. If you are unsure how to submit an assignment into the Originality Check tool, review the Turnitin—Student Guide for step-by-step instructions.
  • Review the grading rubric to see how you will be graded for this assignment.
  • For Your Success
  • The module emphasizes the elasticity approach to depreciation. A currency depreciation can lead to an improvement in a nation’s trade position. Consider this question as you progress through the module: Under what circumstances this could happen? Pay attention to the J-curve effect and the extent to which exchange rate changes lead to changes in import prices and export prices. This week, you have a Critical Thinking Assignment that is due. Please review the assignment directions now, and contact your instructor with any questions. Additionally, your next quiz encompassing material from Modules 11 and 12, which is a graded exercise for this module, must be completed by the end of this weekLearning Outcomes
    1. Analyze how the exchange rate adjustments affect the balance of payments.
    2. Evaluate how currency depreciation stimulates exports.

Hi, What is the hypothesis here? We used Goodness of Fit Tests and Categorical Data Analysis ————-In recent years, a correlation between mental and physical well-being has increasingly become accepted. An analysis of birthdays and death days of famous people could be used as further evidence in the study of this correlation. To use these data, we are supposing that being able to look forward to something betters a person’s mental state and that a famous person would probably look forward to his or her birthday because of the resulting attention, affection, and so on. If a famous person is in poor health and dying, then perhaps anticipating his birthday would “cheer him up and therefore improve his health and possibly decrease the chance that he will die shortly before his birthday.” The data might therefore reveal that a famous person is less likely to die in the months before his or her birthday and more likely to die in the months afterward. ——-Than you

Fixed income project

Fixed Income Due: 12/2/21 (electronically), no late submissions accepted Project #1 35 Points Total
You will implement the Black-Derman-Toy (1990) interest rate model to value a callable bond and to derive risk measures such as effective duration and effective convexity. It is recommended that you refer to your class notes for this project. Use Excel to generate the answers to the following questions – a template is provided. 1. (10 points) Using the information from the table below, calibrate the benchmark forward rates for the binomial tree using the forward induction method.
σ Year 1 2 3 4 5 30% Zero Rates 3.1% 3.2% 3.5% 4.1% 4.3%
You will take the last two digits of your UIN and divide by 50000 and then add that amount to each zero rate. For example, if your UIN is xxxxxxx55, then take 55/50000 = 0.0011 and add that to each rate (e.g., 0.031 + 0.0011 = 0.0321, etc.)
Tree Calibration (a) For each of the UIN adjusted zero rates, compute the zero coupon bond price – do this per $1 face which gives a present value factor. (b) The rate for the first period is fixed; however, you need to find a set of forward rates, which at each time step are linked by σ, and which are also consistent with the respective zero coupon bond prices. For example, you will find a set of forwards y∗ 1,2 such that P(y∗ 1,2,σ) = Pz 2 , where Pz 2 is the zero coupon price. On the first step, you will have y∗ 1,2 and yu 1,2 = y∗ 1,2 e2σ √∆t (Note: I simplify this by using annual rates with the number of steps equal to the number of years, so √∆t = 1). (c) Once you find y∗ 1,2, use those rates, and repeat the process to find y∗ 2,3, i.e., forward induction. (d) Repeat the process to find y∗ 3,4 and y∗ 4,5. Compute the OAS, s∗

  1. (8 points) Below is the price of a 5-year callable bond and that bond is not callable until year 2 (second interest rate step), You will find an OAS, s∗, such that callable bond priced off the calibrated forward rate tree equals the market price. Note: this is also another optimization, because you will want to minimize (Pmkt −P(s∗))2 as a function of s∗. Report your result to the nearest 1/10 of a basis point. Term Coupon Call Price Non-call period Market Price 5 years UIN Dependent $101 1 year $99.75
The coupon is determined as follows: Coupon = 4.8 + ID/500, where ID is the last 2 digits of your UIN. 3. (6 points) Use s∗ to answer the following two questions: (a) What is the price of a non-callable bond priced at s∗, i.e., if you add s∗ to each zero rate, and price the bond without any callability, what is the price? (b) What is the option cost for the bond? (c) What is the ZV spread for the bond and option cost in basis points? Be careful: Bond is still callable and may be called early based on ZV forward rates so include this logic in your equations.
    Compute Effective Duration and Convexity
  2. (8 points) You will do a parallel downward shift of the yield curve by 10 bps, recalibrate the curve and reprice the bond using s∗, then repeat the process shifting the yield curve up by 10 bps. What is the effective duration and convexity?
Compute Vega, V 5. (3 points) Because your callable bond is short a call option you want to know the impact of volatility on the price. You will change volatility, say by 1%, recalibrate the forward rate tree, then reprice. Compute vega as:
    V =
    P(s∗,σ + 0.01)−P(s∗,σ) 0.01
What is the predicted change in price for a 1% increase in volatility?
× How can I help you?
