Let’s go back to the first example we looked at with the intersection points betweenΒ π¦=ππ₯Β andΒ π¦=π₯3.
1. Let’s go back to the first example we looked at with the intersection points between π¦=ππ₯ and π¦=π₯3.
Use Newton’s Method to find the second intersection point.
2. You’re going to find any absolute extrema for the function π¦=5sin(π₯β2)πβ(π₯β2)2βπ₯ on the interval [0,2]. In order to find critical points, you’re going to need to solve π¦β²=0, and this is where you’ll use Newton’s Method.
(Notice that the derivatives π¦β² and π¦β³ might be annoying to find: feel free to confirm your derivatives with others!)3
3. You’re going to find any absolute extrema for the function π¦=5sin(π₯β2)πβ(π₯β2)2βπ₯ on the interval [0,2]. In order to find critical points, you’re going to need to solve π¦β²=0, and this is where you’ll use Newton’s Method.
(Notice that the derivatives π¦β² and π¦β³ might be annoying to find: feel free to confirm your derivatives with others!)4. We might recall that it could be nice to have a general idea of what this function looks like on this interval. Let’s graph the function on the interval [0,2].
5. We might have a better idea on how to find these absolute extrema. Make note, though, that we should show that the π₯-values we find for the absolute extrema actually match with the absolute maximum/minimum π¦-value.
6. Let’s investigate the following function: π¦=π₯3β2π₯+2. We’re going to try to find the π₯-intercept. Try using Newton’s Method a couple of times with the following initial guesses: 0, 1, a value between 0 and 1, and a value bigger than 1
7. Here’s a fun one. Let’s consider the function
π¦=β288+2880π₯β11314π₯2+21785π₯3β20523π₯4+7560π₯5
This function has 5 real π₯-intercepts. We could do some algebra and stuff and find all 5 of these, but let’s use Newton’s Method.
The hint I’ll give is that the π₯-intercepts are all between π₯=0 and π₯=4. Use Newton’s method with different starting points to try to find all of the π₯-intercepts.8. Are you frustrated yet? You’ve likely found that this is annoying or hard to do. Let’s go back a step and try plotting the function on the interval [0,4] in order to get some visual context. This might help us find the remaining π₯-intercepts using Newton’s Method.
Finish up by finding whatever π₯-intercepts you hadn’t found
Your boss thinks you have done such a good job with your past two assignments that she has decided to hire you as the full-time scheduler/dispatcher for the companyβs flight department. She has also rapidly expanded the flight department. The company now owns three aircraft and has 8 pilots.
— Weekly Aircraft & Crew Schedule
Assign Aircraft & Crew for the ENTIRE (all three trips) week long flight schedule provided on
page two. Aircraft & crew schedule should be created on the weeklong calendar included in
the assignment.
o First Officers must be assigned to fly with a Captain
o All duty day policies must be complied with
ο§ Pay close attention to time zones
o Crews may be pre-positioned to continue a trip if duty time becomes an issue.
Home base for all crews is considered to be Omaha
Duty & Fatigue Policy
o Crews must report for duty 1:30 prior to departure time
o Crews are considered off duty :30 after arrival time
o Crews may not be on duty for more than 14 hours in a day
o Crews must have 10 hours of rest after a duty period of 10 hours or longer
– can’t have 2first officer for the same trip
– CAN’T HAVE THESAME AIRCRAFT AT THE SAME TIME

What should be the focus for her nutritional history and assessment?
PROJECT A
In this module, you will continue submitting work on your project. List three scholarly peer reviewed references you plan to use. These can be guidelines, scholarly articles, or other evidence-based sources written within the last five years. Along with this list include one to two sentences explaining how you plan to use them in your project.
Submit the three resources in APA format. This reference list is not all inclusive; you may have to add or discard resources as your project progresses. Your references on your reference page must match your in text citations.
See the resources below to assist you with this assignment.
PROJECT B
- What should be the focus for her nutritional history and assessment?
- What dietary recommendations should be made?
- What obstacles to staying on the diet recommended might this woman encounter?
- What special considerations should you, as a nurse, be aware of?
PROJECT C Clinical Case:
Mrs. G. is a 45-year-old female arrives at the emergency department where you are working with complaints of burning pain in her chest and throat and a sour taste in her mouth. She states this pain has been going on for years after she eats certain foods. She has a large, extended family and does all of the cooking. She is Hispanic and likes to cook her special recipes because she believes that “these foods are good for herself and her family.” She is very proud of her cooking and believes that is one of her main contributions to her family. She has never been sick and does not like to take pills.
She is examined by the emergency room doctor and diagnosed with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). The doctor has ordered medication for you to administer. These medications include a proton pump inhibitor (Prilosec), and a Histamine 2 blocker (Pepcid). He also prescribes the proton pump inhibitor to be taken at home for the next two weeks. Mrs. G. starts to feel better and is ready for discharge. You will be providing the client teaching and discharge instructions about GERD.
In your discussion about GERD include:
- Dietary suggestions you would make
- What foods and liquids she should avoid
- What changes she should make
- Barriers she will face in making these changes and how they can be overcome
Describe your findings and how population health data helps identify priority areas of concern.
Visit the “Quick Facts United States,” resource to gather demographic data for your county of residence. Include age, ethnicity, poverty levels, housing, and education. Then visit the “County Health Rankings and Roadmaps,” website to collect epidemiological data from your county health department (Florida). Describe your findings and how population health data helps identify priority areas of concern.

- Where would you place your factories?
- Where would you put your distribution centers?
- If you had a store, where would you put it?
- Please provide reasons for your decisions
Review your classmates’ posts. Respond to at least 2 of them with a review and suggestions for the last main question.
