How to calculate the annual growth rate?

What Is Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR)?

The average annual growth rate (AAGR) reports the mean increase in the value of an individual investment, portfolio, asset, or cash flow

Formula for the Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) Is

AAGR= GR a + GR b + GR c + ……../ N

GR a= Growth Rate for period a ( year 1 for example)

GR b = Growth rate for period b (year 2 for example)

and so on.

N = the number of those periods ( for example years)

For example N= 5 for five years period

AAGR Example

The AAGR measures the average rate on return or growth over a series of equally spaced time periods. As an example, assume an investment has the following values over the course of four years:

Beginning value = $100,000

End of year 1 value = $120,000

End of year 2 value = $135,000

End of year 3 value = $160,000

End of year 4 value = $200,000

Thus, the growth rates for each of the years are as follows:

So each year is calculated like that:

(The beginning value / the end value)-1

It is a percentage so you need to multiply the result by 100 for each year

Year 1 growth = $120,000 / $100,000 – 1 = 20%

Year 2 growth = $135,000 / $120,000 – 1 = 12.5%

Year 3 growth = $160,000 / $135,000 – 1 = 18.5%

Year 4 growth = $200,000 / $160,000 – 1 = 25%

and so on……

The AAGR is calculated as the sum of each year’s growth rate divided by the number of years:

AAGR = (20%+12.5%+18.5%+25%) / 4 =19%

What happened in the chapters of Oryx and Crake?

Question:

What happened in the chapters of Oryx and Crake that you read this week? (69-144)

Note:

  1. This does not need to be a formal or well-edited summary. Think of it like a “brain dump.” Just write down all the things you can remember.
  2. Or if it’s faster, you could copy and paste chapter summaries you wrote in your notes.

To earn full credit, your summary/brain dump should be:

  1. About 10-12 sentences,
  2. Fairly complete (cover the main things that happen in the assigned chapters), and
  3. Accurate and clear.

Question 2:

  1. What are 3 parts of the book that relate to one or more of the Essay #3 prompts, and
  2. How do these parts of the book relate to at least one of the prompts?

Reminder of the prompt options:

  1. In what way is genetic modification of humans potentially dangerous or unpredictable? What characters or events does Oryx and Crake use to show that genetic modification of humans is dangerous or unpredictable?
  2. Why is society’s obsession with youth (or beauty) dangerous or unhealthy? What characters or events does Oryx and Crake use to show the negative impact of an obsession with youth or beauty?
  3. Why is storytelling so important to society? What characters or events does Oryx and Crake use to show the importance of storytelling?
  4. Should Snowman protect the Crakers and allow them to thrive as the new “human species” of this planet, or should he join the remaining humans and help them rebuild society (leaving the Crakers to die)? Why?
Find the minimum element from the lists of integers.

You will find the minimum element from the lists of integers.

Input: [[5,2,31,9],[2,1,6,7,11],[55,1,7,8,9]]

Output: 1. [The minimum among the lists of integers]

1. Implement a program of O(N^k) runtime complexity of the problem.

2. Implement a program of ~ O(N*logN) runtime complexity of the above same problem. [Hint : Apply the log rule]

3. Test and compare the results of 1 and 2 with a large size input (e.g., Input size >= 50X50)
