How is rejecting the null hypothesis related to statistical significance?
Discussion 8
One of the most challenging things for students to understand is what it means to reject the null hypothesis. How is rejecting the null hypothesis related to statistical significance? Please use your own words (very important!) to describe what information you use to determine statistical significance, and give an example of this information (for example, how might you check to see if your oneway ANOVA is significant? How about a Two-Way ANOVA?). Once you decide that an effect is significant, for example, please indicate what that means to you IN YOUR OWN WORDS. The point of this discussion is to help you help each other learn, not to copy down a perfect answer. Finally, do you see any problems with/limitations of NHST? Why or why not?

4. Explain your understanding of appropriate and inappropriate test preparation and on your understanding of the practice of “teaching to the test,” as well as ways to make it engaging and reduce test anxiety.
5. In a few sentences, give your understanding of the Response to Intervention progress-monitoring process and how it informs student tier placement.
6. Describe your beliefs in fair grading practices, including giving extra credit, allowing do-overs, assigning zeros for cheating or work not handed in, and the concept of giving exemplars, drafts, feedback, and student-friendly rubrics.

List and explain your top three food/lifestyle suggestions and how you would recommend that she incorporate them in her day. Be specific in your food/lifestyle suggestions by offering substitutions to her current plan.
Current Plan: Your mother’s day consists of skipping breakfast and just drinking 2 cups of coffee. She eats a bagel or sandwich with deli meat for lunch. At around 3 o’clock, she eats a handful of chocolate-covered almonds (because she heard almonds are healthy) and for dinner, she usually just heats up a frozen dinner or eats spaghetti with jarred sauce. how can we improve communications with each other in a world filled with technology that often results in physical isolation?
Discussion: As you build your human relations skills, it is very important to establish an acute sensitivity to the impact communication has on your interpersonal relationships at home and at work. Human relations communication starts with your desire to connect with another person. Sometimes, connecting can be a challenge with technologies such as email, instant messaging, text messaging, and forms of social media. These modes of technology make it difficult to read non-verbal cues. We continue to be dependent on relationships for people, processes, and technology to give us our best results.
Based on your readings this week (see Content – Week 1 – Reading and Resources), how can we improve communications with each other in a world filled with technology that often results in physical isolation? Be creative in your answer!
You may find appropriate articles at the end of each chapter, and/or identify articles through the APUS online Library. Finally, be sure that all discussions are answered in full, in order to ensure the best possible grade based on the work submitted.
