discuss at least three health-related benefits associated with achieving the recommended amount of activity as outlined in the guidelines.

Assignment Background:

Exercise is critically important for people of all ages. For this assignment, you will discuss the guidelines and benefits of exercise for clients of different ages. As a fitness professional, your job will be to determine a client’s current activity level and whether they are exercising at levels that promote good health and educate them on the benefits of exercising regularly.

Instructions:

Here is the biographical information about three clients of different ages: Justin (age 15), Jennifer (age 35), and Tony (age 79). Select two of the clients and address all parts of the assignment for each client. Your assignment must be in APA format and utilize references. Expected length is approximately 2–3 pages.

Part 1: Current Activity Level Compared to the Guidelines

For each of your two clients, summarize the physical activity guidelines based on their age and discuss whether your clients are currently meeting the guidelines. If they are meeting the guidelines, discuss how. If they are not meeting the guidelines, identify where they are falling short.

Part 2: Benefits of Physical Activity

For each of your two clients, discuss at least three health-related benefits associated with achieving the recommended amount of activity as outlined in the guidelines. Be sure to discuss age-specific benefits for each client.

Select one (1) specialized unit within a contemporary crime lab and prepare an 1,200 word paper (content) addressing the functions of the unit.

Crime is at an all-time high in the City of Crimetown, USA. City Officials are determined to reduce crime and have already allocated money for more police officers. They have additional funds and want to allocate a portion to the crime laboratory of Crimetown Police Department. You and your fellow co-workers at the crime laboratory have been asked to prepare a presentation to the City Officials. The City is considering allocating additional funds to one forensic unit within the crime laboratory this year and they wish to gain a better understanding of the functions of the unit and why this unit would be the most helpful in solving crime.

Select one (1) specialized unit within a contemporary crime lab and prepare an 1,200 word paper (content) addressing the functions of the unit, the importance of the particular forensic examinations within the unit, and how the unit will help investigators solve crime. I recommend using real life case examples and statistics to bolster your argument.

1,200 to 1,500 words in length (not including your title, abstract, and reference pages), written in APA format (title page, abstract, and separate reference page) and include at least 6 scholarly references.

write a proper business letter to a person who has some influence in the area you want to see change and persuade them to use their position of power to change policy in this area.

Overview:
<
This assignment involves some civic engagement, research skills, and writing. You are going to persuade a person who has some influence to use their position of power to change policies.
<
<
Choose an issue or problem that you see in one of your communities (e.g. your church, your child’s school, your town, state, country…). Choose the best course of action based on your research. Then write a proper business letter to a person who has some influence in the area you want to see change and persuade them to use their position of power to change policy in this area.
<
<
You will automatically be assigned a classmates’ paper for peer review. Please use the rubric to guide your feedback.
<
<
Step One:
<
Choose an issue (related to the topics in the course) that is important to you. Possible topics include: racial inequalities in the prison system, trying juveniles as adults, METCO, rehabilitating sex offenders, advertising (drug companies, aimed at toddlers, etc), tax on sugary drinks, the driving age, parental leave policy, college athletes, etc.
<
<
Step Two:
<
Research ALL perspectives on the issue and formulate a solution based on the evidence.
<
<
Step Three:
<
Choose someone who has some real influence in the area of your topic. For many topics, elected officials would be most appropriate. You can find your elected officials at this website: https://myreps.datamade.us/Links to an external site.
<
<
Many other people also have the power to influence policies and ideas. The president of a pharmaceutical company, Anthony Fauci, the president of the AFL-CIO, Big Pappy, even, sadly, the Kardashians have a lot of power also. You are going to write a business letter so you have to find a postal address for the person of your choice.
<
<
Step Four:
<
Write. Remember that your objective is to persuade this person. Your solution is so clearly backed by statistics, data, and solid research. You are so right that this person should take your idea and make it happen.
<
<
Remember that whoever you are writing to is busy and so is whoever opens their mail. Your letter should be short, respectful, and to the point so that they will read the whole thing. AND it better be perfect in terms of mechanics (i.e. organization, grammar, spelling and punctuation) so that they will take it seriously!
<
<

<
<
The important thing is that you choose a topic that interests you, that have a clear solution and that you can support that solution with evidence!
<
<
(Also, I can’t make you send the letter but I hope you will!)
<
<
All papers must be properly cited.
<
<
(Footnotes or endnotes are the most appropriate format for this assignment.)

Evaluate how controversial topics should be addressed by critical thinkers

In this paper, you get to demonstrate the skills you have learned in this class as you strive to manifest the ability to arrive at conclusions based upon a fair-minded analysis of the best reasoning on both sides of issues. This includes presenting and evaluating the best arguments on each side, followed by a presentation of your own argument for your thesis. You will go on to support this argument using evidence from scholarly sources and addressing the strongest objection to it. Integrate the work you did in the Week 3 Scholarly Arguments on Both Sides assignment.
For an example of how to complete this paper, take a look at the Week Five Example Paper.
Your paper should include the following elements:
Introduction (approximately 150 words)
Introduce readers to your topic.
Include a brief preview of what you will accomplish in this paper.
First Argument (approximately 200 words)
Present the best argument on one side of the issue.
Put your argument in standard form, with the premises listed one by one above the conclusion.
You may put the premises into your own words, or you may quote a source. If you use words directly from a source, then they must occur within quotation marks (in addition to the citation).
This argument can be based on the scholarly sources you analyzed in Week 3, but it can also include evidence from other sources you have found (in addition to your own improvements). It is to represent what you take to be the best argument you have found for this side of the issue.
Cite sources that support your premises. Refer to the Writing Center’s APA: Citing Within Your Paper resource to structure the citations.
Opposing Argument (approximately 200 words)
Present the best argument on the other side of the issue (same as above, but on the opposite side).
Develop your argument in standard form, with sources cited to support your statements (as above).
Analysis of the Arguments (approximately 300 words)
Evaluate the quality of the two arguments given above.
This can include addressing whether key premises are true (or well supported) and how strongly the conclusion logically follows from them.
Explain any fallacies, biases, or rhetorical tricks committed by any of them.
Analyze why one is stronger than the other.
Justify your position not with opinion but with your analysis of the quality of the arguments.
Presentation of your own argument on the topic (approximately 200 words)
Construct your own argument on the topic.
Present your argument in standard form.
Of course, this argument will be influenced and supported by the research you have done, but this is to be your own argument in your own words supporting your thesis.
For any premises that are based on research, include a citation of the relevant source (even though the premise is in your own words).
Addressing an objection to your argument (approximately 300 words)
Present what you would consider to be the best possible objection to your argument (you may address more than one if you prefer).
Present what you would take to be the best reply to this objection and defense of your argument.
Cite a scholarly source in this section as well (either in your presentation of the objection or in your response to it).
Conclusion (approximately 150 words)
Summarize the evidence for all points of view.
Evaluate how controversial topics should be addressed by critical thinkers

Post an analysis of how different leadership styles can be beneficial.

1) Post an analysis of how different leadership styles can be beneficial. Select the leadership style that you least identify with and describe one positive attribute of this style. How might you integrate this attribute into your leadership?
Then, explain how you would learn about the needs of your team and the leadership style they prefer to work under. Based on what you learn, to what extent would you adapt your leadership style?
2) You have been told that the People First San Diego organization needs to downsize in light of the economic climate and that you will be losing some staff on your Therapy Services team. The executive director has told the leadership team that at this time, everyone should remain positive and say nothing to avoid a “panic situation.” Human Resources has concurred.
One person who faces termination is Jerry, a young therapist who has just had his first child. Jerry comes to your office and shows you a real estate listing for a house he is going to make an offer on that afternoon. As you are chatting, Jerry says, “I wouldn’t be able to afford this without my salary. I’m good, right?” He laughs, not knowing anything about the impending layoffs. What do you do?
—–Post a potential solution to the ethical scenario that draws on ethical leadership and the NASW Code of Ethics. Provide justification for your choices. Additionally, explain the type of power you would utilize in achieving the solution.
9) As Director of Clinical Services at People First San Diego, you normally have a budget of $300,000 to fund the Therapy Services department. This money pays for salaries, training, and supplies. However, this number has recently been cut to $230,000 due to a grant being pulled. You may no longer be able to support a team of four master’s-level social workers (whose salaries range from $60,000 to $66,000) and three interns, so you may have to restructure the department. Even though your budget has decreased, in a perfect world, you would still help a similar number of clients. This new, lower budget is not negotiable. What do you do?
Based on the scenario, post a response:
Describe how your department or service delivery would need to be adjusted. For example, would you downsize, bring in more interns (remember the hidden cost), reduce hours, decrease professional development or training, or reconfigure the one-to-one therapy model? Be specific about what you would do and explain why.
How would you manage morale through the change? Be specific as to what strategies you would use to keep staff engaged, productive, and motivated.
What would you need from your own manager in order to be successful in leading your team through the change?

Evaluate nursing theories and models and the relation to critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and nursing role development.
