Describe the circumstances surrounding the difficult work-related decision you had to make. In your description, include details about the options you were weighing, why the decision was difficult, et cetera.

Managers make numerous decisions on a daily basis. For some, the best choice is easy or straightforward to determine. If a machine breaks down, you either need to repair it or replace it. In an increasingly interconnected and complex world, however, the best decisions can often be unclear. Consider where you would stand on the following scenario:
A company has developed a new product for which there is a great demand. The consensus of the leadership team is that the company should capitalize on this opportunity and hike up the price to generate a 300% return on each sale. They feel that, as long as the marketplace is willing to pay for it, then there is no problem, especially since this would help solve recent discussions of layoffs due to declining sales. Only one person in the leadership team voices disapproval of this approach, saying that this is a greedy action that would rip off customers and go against the company’s values. The person feels that—despite what it would mean for the business—the product should be priced to generate a 40% return, which is an average return for the company’s products.
In this Discussion, you will examine a tough decision you have had to make in the past. You will reflect on the factors you used to make that decision and determine whether you would make the same choice if faced with the same set of circumstances again.
To prepare for this Discussion:

Identify a time you had to make a tough decision related to work. This should be a time when the right course of action was not immediately apparent or clear-cut. There may have been differing points of view, each with some validity, or perhaps there were some special circumstances in the situation that made the correct and ethical choice less obvious.
Consider the values, guidelines, and rules that you used to make that decision.

BY DAY 3
Post a synthesis of a difficult work-related decision you had to make, including how you might approach the situation in the future. Specifically:

Describe the circumstances surrounding the difficult work-related decision you had to make. In your description, include details about the options you were weighing, why the decision was difficult, et cetera.
Explain the guidelines, rules, and values you used to make the decision.
Using the Learning Resources for support, explain how you would approach the situation if it happened again. Would you handle it differently or take a similar action, and why?

Identify an example—from your own experience—either of a workplace that was characterized by drama or negativity, or a singular incident involving drama or negativity that was poorly handled by management.

CREATING A DRAMA-FREE WORKPLACE
The ways in which managers deal with—or fail to deal with—drama and negativity in the workplace have far-reaching effects on the overall organizational culture. The average professional spends a significant portion of their lives in the workplace, so it would be sensible to ensure that it is as enjoyable an experience as possible. Although many people “put up with” toxic work environments, they also frequently leave those environments to be treated better. For those who stay, it can be expected that they would be less committed and connected to their job. Instead of thinking of ways to innovate or cut costs, they might spend their mental energy imagining what they will be doing on their next vacation. Leaders who strive to create a drama-free workplace do their part to avoid that outcome.
In this Discussion, you will recall an instance of workplace drama or negativity you’ve observed or experienced. You will then analyze the manager’s role in the experience and develop specific, behavioral suggestions for ways that same manager could have responded to foster a more positive overall environment.

To prepare for this Discussion:
Review the resources from this week focusing on creating a drama-free workplace.
Identify an example—from your own experience—either of a workplace that was characterized by drama or negativity, or a singular incident involving drama or negativity that was poorly handled by management.
Also consider the role of the manager in the situation.

Post an analysis of the role of a manager in influencing workplace culture and formulate some recommended managerial action steps for addressing drama and negativity and improving the workplace culture. Specifically:

Describe, in detail, the situation involving workplace drama and/or negativity.
Interpret the manager’s role in either fueling or permitting the drama or negativity.
Explain how the manager might have behaved differently and propose some recommendations for the manager to foster a more positive, drama-free work environment going forward.

IT 140 Module Two Assignment Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
PyCharm is an integrated development environment (IDE) used in computer programming, specifically for the Python language. It makes it easier for programmers to write various web applications in Python. In this assignment, to give you some experience with working in PyCharm, you will write a simple program that prompts a user for their name and age.
Note: The next coding assignment you will be required to develop in PyCharm is the Module Six Milestone. Learning how to develop in PyCharm now will help prepare you for the other coding assignments later in the course.
Prompt
For this project, you will be developing a PY file that contains your code in PyCharm and evaluating a few of the features of PyCharm. If you haven’t already, be sure to install the PyCharm IDE and Python on your computer. Review the tutorials in the Module Two resources to help you install and get started with PyCharm.
Part A?In PyCharm, write a program that prompts the user for their name and age. Your program should then tell the user the year they were born. Here is a sample execution of the program with the user input in bold:
What is your name?
Amanda
How old are you?
15
Hello Amanda! You were born in 2005.
Write the program. Format your code using best practices. Refer to the zyBooks style guide, if needed, to use proper naming conventions for variables and methods. Use the most appropriate statements with minimal extraneous elements, steps, or procedures.
Run the program.
Debug the program. Be sure your code produces the correct results.
Save and submit your file.
Part B?While you don’t need an IDE to write a program, there are some features that make it desirable. What did you notice when using PyCharm to develop a simple program? For instance, you might have noticed how color is used. Identify two to three features that could make coding easier for programmers, and briefly explain why.
What to Submit
For this assignment, you will be developing and submitting the NameAge.py file. Develop your program in small steps, as outlined in the directions. When you have built the program and checked it for errors, save your file and submit it. You may resubmit the assignment if you need to make changes, but if your last submission is after the due date, you may not be able to receive full credit.
In addition, submit a Microsoft Word document of 2 to 3 paragraphs explaining some of the features of PyCharm and why they can be useful.

To prepare:

Review the Crime Data Resources located in the Learning Resources this week to view the types of crimes committed in certain areas.Note: If you are an international student, you may find data for your country at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime website located in the Learning Resources this week on which to focus for this Discussion.Would the crime be categorized as expressive or instrumental or a combination of the two? Explain your rationale. Alternatively, you may select a state/city/community within the United States from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation websites.
Review the Week 3 Case Studies document and consider the types of crimes and influencing factors associated with each of the cases presented.
Select one case study from the Week 3 Case Studies document on which to focus for this Discussion and attempt to think like an offender by considering the circumstances and experiences the person may have had that drove them to commit a crime.

BY DAY 3
Post a summary of the case you selected and your responses to the following questions:

Would the crime be categorized as expressive or instrumental or a combination of the two? Explain your rationale.
What influencing factors may have contributed to the subject’s crime or criminal behavior and why?
How might the subject have rationalized their behavior?
Why might one person commit a crime while another person with a similar background does not? Explain your rationale.
Would you have behaved in a similar way? Why or why not?

Describe a hypothesis test study that would help your work or conclusions in some way. Describe what variable would be tested and what would be your guess of the value of that variable. Then include how the result, if the null were rejected or not, might change your conclusions or actions in some way.
I decided to choose nutrition can improve energy level. The variable would be between proper nutrition intake with an improved energy level and there would be discussion on fi they were to accomplish more task throughout the day, feeling less groggy when waking up and feeling less brain fog throughout the day. My guess would be there would be an increase in energy level and productivity. if the null was rejected it could be due to was there consistent meal plan that was upheld through the experiment or as stated by Bo et. al, (2020) claim even the gut microbiome can conflict the results and how each person process’ food for energy. Academy Nutrition Information Services Team (2023), offer insight of what cues to utilize to know when to eat and what to eat to improve energy levels. In the research a complete meal plan based on the person’s weight and energy expenditure would be evaluated and should be maintained throughout study.

Describe what are the basic principles of phonics instruction?

Knowing the content and methodology of phonics, high-frequency words, and syllabic analysis is essential if teachers intend to be able to help all of their pupils, both struggling and achieving readers, succeed. The chapter emphasizes the importance of phonics (if needed), high-frequency (sight) words, and syllabic analysis as tools for decoding words, but emphasizes that these elements must be taught and applied in the context of real reading and must be adapted to fit the needs of older students and struggling readers. Monitoring progress and gearing instruction to students’ level of development are emphasized. A system for leveling books according to the decoding skills needed to read them is presented. Fluency is also discussed. To empower readers to create their own instruction, the chapter presents basic concepts essential for planning a word recognition program: major consonant and vowel correspondences, generalizations, single-syllable and multisyllabic patterns, and methods and materials for teaching phonics, high-frequency words, and syllabication. Techniques for fostering fluency are presented in detail
In this discussion, based on your reading of  the chapter ,indicate your understanding of Phonics awareness  by responding to the questions below. Reflect upon and discuss ALL Two of the following questions
1. What does it mean if a 5-year-old child writes “pez tak me yet u”  (Please take me with you)? what instructional help would you give?
2. What are the basic principles of phonics instruction?
STEP 1: First, write a response with at least Five substantial sentences, integrating concepts you learned from the reading and other materials (include links with necessary). Show that you can think critically on the topic by integrating your own thoughts, analysis, or experiences.

× How can I help you?
