Guidelines for gaining informed consent prior to assessment and treatment spans all fields of psychology. Behavior analysis is no exception. The ethical guidelines require that you explain the process of assessment and treatment in language the client can understand. You must also detail the limitations to confidentiality and discuss the payment for services. There are situations in which the client is incapable of providing informed consent due to deficits in cognitive abilities and/or an inability to make choices or understand the consequences of their decisions. Given that the potential client has severe behaviors that need intervention, discuss steps you could take to provide treatment.

Post a comparison of at least two APRN board of nursing regulations in your state/region with those of at least one other state/region.
Discussion: Professional Nursing and State-Level Regulations
Boards of Nursing (BONs) exist in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands. Similar entities may also exist for different regions. The mission of BONs is the protection of the public through the regulation of nursing practice. BONs put into practice state/region regulations for nurses that, among other things, lay out the requirements for licensure and define the scope of nursing practice in that state/region.
It can be a valuable exercise to compare regulations among various state/regional boards of nursing. Doing so can help share insights that could be useful should there be future changes in a state/region. In addition, nurses may find the need to be licensed in multiple states or regions.
To Prepare:
Review the Resources and reflect on the mission of state/regional boards of nursing as the protection of the public through the regulation of nursing practice.
Consider how key regulations may impact nursing practice.
Review key regulations for nursing practice of your state’s/region’s board of nursing and those of at least one other state/region and select at least two APRN regulations to focus on for this Discussion..
By Day 3 of Week 5
Post a comparison of at least two APRN board of nursing regulations in your state/region with those of at least one other state/region. Describe how they may differ. Be specific and provide examples. Then, explain how the regulations you selected may apply to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) who have legal authority to practice within the full scope of their education and experience. Provide at least one example of how APRNs may adhere to the two regulations you selected.
Do you think personality disorders are caused by nature or nurture? Explain.
Do you think personality disorders are caused by nature or nurture? Explain. Feel free to access the following for more information:
The search for causes of antisocial personality disorder reintroduces the debate between nature vs. nurture. Increasingly, research is narrowing in on biological factors. Studies have shown that those diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (ASP) lack gray matter in the prefrontal cortex. This area is responsible for regulating social judgment and behavior.

- You are the project leader for Casino Night on campus, a charitable event organized by your group to raise money for the homeless. The event was a big success, garnering a net profit of $3,500. Before the event your team researched nearby organizations that support the homeless and to whom the money could be given. You narrowed the choices to the “Chunk of Coal House” and “St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen.” Eventually your group decided that the funds be given to Chunk of Coal. You are about to write a check to its director when you read in the local newspaper that the Chunk of Coal House has terminated operations. What should you do with the money?

The product appears to utilize radical new design principles that expand the functionality of the product. This poses a serious threat to the success of your project. Do you believe that the hazards associated with DDT outweigh the pesticide’s benefits?
Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, read Chapter 7 from the course text, Essentials of Environmental Health (3rd ed.). Additionally, read the following chapters from Silent Spring:
· Chapter 3: Elixirs of Death
· Chapter 12: The Human Price
Silent Spring, the classic work by Rachel Carson, is credited with sensitizing the public to the potential hazards of chemicals that were being disseminated into the environment. One of these chemicals was dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, or DDT. What were some of the concerns that led to the banning of DDT in the United States and other developed countries? Do you believe that the hazards associated with DDT outweigh the pesticide’s benefits? Here is one way to crowd-source an effort to find out:
· In your initial posting, make two columns using the discussion editor’s insert table button, or just create two numbered sections in your post.
· In the Pro column or section, provide a single complete sentence argument for banning DDT.
· In the Con column or section, provide a single complete sentence argument against banning DDT.
· Each argument sentence must be accompanied by a citation along with a reference back to your source or sources.
· If the source utilized is from the required readings, list the document name and page number.
