Explain for how a VLAN could be implemented so that bandwidth is not consumed.
Assignment: VLAN
Consider the following scenario:
Your company moves into a new building. Marketing is on the first floor, engineering is on the second floor, operations is on the third floor, and the call center is on the fourth floor. The LAN is organized neatly, with each floor having its own switch. Some of the groups on the floor are connected through hubs and the network is planned for orderly growth. The company grows faster and much differently than was planned, however, and the call
center must be expanded. Some of the engineering department employees on the second floor and operations employees on the fourth floor move offsite and the call center expands. Space is compressed and users move to other parts of the building, but their communities of interest do not change. The same users still need to communicate with the same services.
Explain for how a VLAN could be implemented so that bandwidth is not consumed. Your plan must ensure that the network is not flooded with packets, and that members of the same VLAN can be located in different buildings or cities.
Include the following:
The benefit of creating a VLAN A plan to segment the network into different broadcast domains to avoid bandwidth consumption A plan to improve security The type of VLAN membership and the value of that choice over other options The type of switch to be used, layer 2 or layer 3, and why you would choose it over the other The types of trunking configured on the switch The purpose and benefit of using the VLAN trunk protocol (VTP) A definition of the VTP mode used to configure the switches. Identify those responsible for creating and maintaining an emergency plan.
Case Study: Hurricane Katrina
No single emergency is more indicative of the need for emergency planning than the 2005 Hurricane Katrina which struck the city of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast of the United States. The response to this natural disaster has been used as an example of poor emergency planning that led to catastrophic mismanagement and subsequent loss of life and property.
Conduct an analysis of the Hurricane Katrina emergency plan that led to the failures to respond to this natural disaster. Use this general outline to conduct the case study analysis.
The analysis should be three to four double-spaced pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) in APA format.
· Introduction (1/2 page)
o Provide a brief overview of the dates and facts of the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe.
o Identify those responsible for creating and maintaining an emergency plan.
· Preparedness for Hurricane Katrina (one to two pages)
o Prior to Hurricane Katrinas arrival, what entities were responsible for emergency response to a hurricane striking New Orleans and the Gulf Coast?
o What emergency plans were in place prior to the arrival of Hurricane Katrina?
o What training and exercises were conducted to prepare for a hurricane prior to Katrina?
o Did the populace know what the emergency plan was prior to the arrival of Hurricane Katrina?
· Emergency Planning Lessons Learned from Katrina (one to two pages)
o What were the major emergency planning failures that were uncovered by Hurricane Katrina?
o What organizational and policy factors led to the planning failures of Hurricane Katrina?
o What lessons learned from the Katrina disaster can now be used to improve the emergency planning for other natural and man-made disasters in the U.S.?
o What actions have been taken by the federal government to improve emergency planning?
Use at least three resources other than the course textbook to support your analysis. Two of these resources should be:
· U.S. House of Representatives. (2006). A failure of initiative: Final report of the select bipartisan committee to investigate the preparation for the response to Hurricane Katrina. 109th Cong., 2nd Sess. Washington, DC: U.S. Government Printing Office.

How would they support your quest to help companies make the most informed decisions in the fields you have selected?
By now you have learned that decision science applies math and technology to solve business problems, involving analysis, visualization, and algorithmic/mathematical computations to extract insights in response to clearly defined business problems. For this discussion question, you will serve as a new decision scientist.
Select a field (i.e., advertising and marketing, human resources, insurance and supply chain management, logistics) and imagine that you are equipping yourself with the tools you will need to help companies make decisions within that field.
Pull an internet search for the many tools available.
Find at least three tools that you would seriously consider using as a new decision scientist.
List these and include hyperlinks to each.
Respond to the following prompts:
What is it about these tools that intrigued you?
How would they support your quest to help companies make the most informed decisions in the fields you have selected?
Discuss why it is important to take into consideration cultural traditions when designing an intervention program.
As a mental health worker in a large city, you have been asked to work with refugee children who have been relocated from central Nigeria to live with foster families in your city. The children are between the ages of 9 and 13, boys and girls. They were rescued from a refugee camp in Nigeria where conditions were very poor. People were cramped and slept in rudimentary shelters. Food was scarce, and disease was rampant. Prior to arriving in the camp, the children were exposed to brutal violence. They saw their families murdered, houses burned, and witnessed or experienced sexual assault. Some were also injured in the attacks on their villages.
Utilize the Culturegrams database in the Argosy Online library, the Ethics and Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct (2010), and your readings to write a paper addressing the following:
Describe the psychological effects of violence that the children from Nigeria might be experiencing? Be sure to consider issues such as gender and age.
Design an intervention program to address the childrens exposure to violence. Remember to consider individual, family, and community needs.
Describe the elements you would incorporate into a prevention program designed to foster resilience in the children from Nigeria, as well as break the cycle of violence that we learned can occur for children exposed to violence. You may research existing programs that utilize best practices as we have learned in this course, or design your own program.
Reflect on the debate between cultural universality and cultural specificity. How would you reconcile this debate within the context of the ethics code for psychologists?
Discuss why it is important to take into consideration cultural traditions when designing an intervention program. Describe at least two specific Nigerian cultural traditions and how you would use this knowledge in designing your intervention program.
Briefly describe at least 2 ethical considerations that one would need to take into account when intervening with children as victims of violence in general, as well as pertaining to cultural issues specifically
Format your paper in APA style, using research gathered from the sources above (i.e., module readings, Culturegrams, and the ethics code) to support your response. Your paper should be between 4 and 5 pages in length and include a cover page, abstract, and reference list.Submit your assignment to the M5:

Briefly explain how race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, or other identity characteristics may influence an individuals experience with schizophrenia.
Assignment: Schizophrenia Over Time: Experiences Living With the Illness
Experiences of schizophrenia are not homogeneous; there is wide variety in onset, course of illness, and combinations of symptoms. Social workers need to be able to understand the different manifestations and pathways of the illness to plan interventions. Social work services play a key role in stabilizing crises, supporting family coping, and influencing overall quality of life and outcomes of individuals with schizophrenia. In this Assignment, you practice applying this necessary individualization.
To prepare: In the Learning Resources, focus on the associated features, development, and course of the illnesses in the schizophrenia spectrum. Also focus on descriptions of the disorder and the way it develops for different individuals.
Choose two articles from the list in the Learning Resources that apply to treatment support and interventions for the schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders chapter in the DSM 5.
Submit a 4-page paper, supported by at least 4 scholarly resources (not including DSM-5), in which you address the following:
· Describe McGoughs experiences with schizophrenia. Identify onset, associated features (specifically referencing the positive and negative symptoms), development, and course.
· Explain how you would use the Clinician Rated Dimensions of Psychosis Symptom Severity measure and the WHODAS to help confirm your diagnosis.
· Explain how you would plan treatment and individualize it for McGough. Support your response with references to scholarly resources. In your explanation, consider the following questions:
o What are the long-term challenges for someone living with the illness?
o What social, family, vocational, and medical supports are needed for long-term stabilization?
· Briefly explain how race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, or other identity characteristics may influence an individuals experience with schizophrenia.
