Explain for how a VLAN could be implemented so that bandwidth is not consumed.

 Assignment: VLAN
• Consider the following scenario:
• Your company moves into a new building. Marketing is on the first floor, engineering is on the second floor, operations is on the third floor, and the call center is on the fourth floor. The LAN is organized neatly, with each floor having its own switch. Some of the groups on the floor are connected through hubs and the network is planned for orderly growth. The company grows faster and much differently than was planned, however, and the call
center must be expanded. Some of the engineering department employees on the second floor and operations employees on the fourth floor move offsite and the call center expands. Space is compressed and users move to other parts of the building, but their communities of interest do not change. The same users still need to communicate with the same services.
• Explain for how a VLAN could be implemented so that bandwidth is not consumed. Your plan must ensure that the network is not flooded with packets, and that members of the same VLAN can be located in different buildings or cities.
• Include the following:
• The benefit of creating a VLAN• A plan to segment the network into different broadcast domains to avoid bandwidth consumption• A plan to improve security• The type of VLAN membership and the value of that choice over other options• The type of switch to be used, layer 2 or layer 3, and why you would choose it over the other• The types of trunking configured on the switch• The purpose and benefit of using the VLAN trunk protocol (VTP)• A definition of the VTP mode used to configure the switches.• Backup plan

Identify those responsible for creating and maintaining an emergency plan.

Case Study: Hurricane Katrina
No single emergency is more indicative of the need for emergency planning than the 2005 Hurricane Katrina which struck the city of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast of the United States. The response to this natural disaster has been used as an example of poor emergency planning that led to catastrophic mismanagement and subsequent loss of life and property.
Conduct an analysis of the Hurricane Katrina emergency plan that led to the failures to respond to this natural disaster. Use this general outline to conduct the case study analysis.
The analysis should be three to four double-spaced pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) in APA format.
·         Introduction (1/2 page)
o    Provide a brief overview of the dates and facts of the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe.
o    Identify those responsible for creating and maintaining an emergency plan.
·         Preparedness for Hurricane Katrina (one to two pages)
o    Prior to Hurricane Katrina’s arrival, what entities were responsible for emergency response to a hurricane striking New Orleans and the Gulf Coast?
o    What emergency plans were in place prior to the arrival of Hurricane Katrina?
o    What training and exercises were conducted to prepare for a hurricane prior to Katrina?
o    Did the populace know what the emergency plan was prior to the arrival of Hurricane Katrina?
·         Emergency Planning Lessons Learned from Katrina (one to two pages)
o    What were the major emergency planning failures that were uncovered by Hurricane Katrina?
o    What organizational and policy factors led to the planning failures of Hurricane Katrina?
o    What lessons learned from the Katrina disaster can now be used to improve the emergency planning for other natural and man-made disasters in the U.S.?
o    What actions have been taken by the federal government to improve emergency planning?
Use at least three resources other than the course textbook to support your analysis. Two of these resources should be:
·         U.S. House of Representatives. (2006). A failure of initiative: Final report of the select bipartisan committee to investigate the preparation for the response to Hurricane Katrina. 109th Cong., 2nd Sess. Washington, DC: U.S. Government Printing Office.
·         The White House. (2006). The federal response to Hurricane Katrina: Lessons learned. (H. Rpt. 109-377). Retrieved May 6, 2010, from http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/reports/katrina-lessons-learned/
·         Third source from a Hurricane Katrina case study.
Must be APA format 6th edition

In what specific ways did the worlds of Inner Africa, the Americas, and  the Pacific follow or diverge from three broad patterns of Afro-Eurasian  history from 8000 BCE to 1450 CE?

Three large parts of the world remained separate from the Afro-Eurasian  network. Each had their own experiences and formed their own networks.  In what specific ways did the worlds of Inner Africa, the Americas, and  the Pacific follow or diverge from three broad patterns of Afro-Eurasian  history from 8000 BCE to 1450 CE? What three things can we learn from  the different experiences of parallel worlds?

Explain each component of the transactional communication model

Question 1:
You are attending a town council meeting where you meet community leader Fran Richardson who is influential in the transportation business. You and Richardson obviously have a lot in common and your conversation is animated and friendly. As a manager in an engineering firm, you know that Richardson could be a valuable contact. Your conversation is interrupted with the start of the meeting. Richardson says to you, “Let’s meet for lunch. I’ll call you soon.”
Respond: Analyze Richardson’s message from multiple perspectives, focusing on word choice and content. How could this message be interpreted? In your analysis, include the criteria for media richness, a discussion of multiple clues, message tailoring, and emotional context.

Create a response (to be delivered after the meeting) that communicates your interest and will increase the opportunity for meeting Fran again.

Evaluate your response in terms of media richness

Question 2
