The individual contribution will consist of a cultural/diversity self assessment and development plan.
Drawing from the relevant academic and applied resources, students will analyse their own experiences in the classroom and track and demonstrate their own development as cross cultural managers, drawing from the various relevant class concepts, particularly as applied to their interaction in the classroom and with their groups’ presentations.
As we have discussed in the class, self awareness is the foundation of effective cross-cultural management. To that end, your task in this paper is to analyze yourself in the classroom and group applying the key concepts addressed in the class and to reflection on your reactions to them and how your reactions (and evolution) will impact your effectiveness as a manager working in a global and diverse context.
Please note that the grade on this paper depends on: ● Completing all of the parts of the paper ● Thoughtful reflection that engages with the key issues related to cross cultural
management ● Application and use of class material. This requires that you cite the relevant articles (not

1) Diversity profile: Please describe yourself making use of the following class concepts: a) Culture (apply at least 4 of the cultural dimensions (you can find it on class 3)

Your group has the following options for the final presentation:
1. Develop or find a scenario to present and then analyze by applying the class principles. (You could use a tv show, a movie, or a case study or create your own scenario, story, or skit.)The objective will be to show what applied cultural intelligence would look like.
2. Develop a plan for a start-up or new business in which you include you and your group-mates as representatives of potential cultural, racial, and gender dynamics.
All presentations require an analysis of the key class concepts including.
a. Culture as applied to motivation, leadership, teamwork, and so on. This requires the application of the cultural dimensions. As you may know, there are many models of cultural dimensions. Application of the ones covered in this class is necessary for a top-level grade. This part of the analysis should look similar to what we did with the Adenaya video.
b. Racialization and bias. Your analysis should address issues such as white privilege, white fragility, implicit bias, and aversive racism
c. Gender dynamics. Please use the concepts addressed, including notions of gender roles and stereotypes, sexism, sexual harassment, and so on
d. Cultural intelligence: Apply the model of cultural intelligence in a broad sense, covering all of the issues analyzed. Show what a culturally intelligent approach would look like
e. DEI policy: Please outline a proposal for a good DEI policy that would circumvent the problematic interactions.

Ethical issues such as confidentiality, self-determination, mandated reporting or profession duty often arise to create potential ethical dilemmas about how to respond.
