After doing the unit reading, conduct research on the Internet and/or in the library to learn more about Cloud Computing, the changes made in the Consulting industry, the security challenges, and the implications to businesses of all sizes but, especially to small businesses as a result.

1. Why should businesses consider the cloud and for what parts of their business?
2. How can the cloud help small businesses?
3. Is data more secure in the cloud? Why?Is data in the cloud more or less susceptible to hacking?
4. How does cloud security work and how does that compare the security of on-site servers? Some businesses are hesitant of using the cloud but since so many third-party services use the cloud, are many already using it anyway?
5. Some research indicates that humans are often the biggest failures in the security chain. Does cloud security still come down to the human element?

Assignment 1 Instructions

There are two Assignments this week. The first one will present you to some scenario where ethical violations were made by a couple of employees. The assignment includes practice in proper communication and formatting, with content relating to ethics, which are all important parts of the IT Consultant’s job. The second Assignment will send you to the Internet for researching about Cloud Computing and how the technology and services can help advance organizational goals

Content

Scenario

You are the lead consultant for an IT consulting firm that specializes in software. Pearson Waters, Inc. is a large, national company that offers property and casualty insurance to businesses and individuals. Your consulting team was hired by Pearson Waters to investigate the possibility of specialized productivity software for their employees to use in storing and retrieving customer data and product details, as well as performing various estimates to show to customers. After researching options, the company approved the design of a new software package, which your team has just now completed.

While you are wrapping up the project, you make some shocking discoveries:

• Some of the programming code completed by your team was actually copied from another company’s proprietary software.
• Two images used in the Employee Instruction Booklet were randomly found on the Internet, and no permission was secured for their use.

These are clear ethics violations. To rectify the situation, you were forced to fire the programmer who stole the code, hire another programmer to ethically rewrite that part of the software package, reprimand the employee who stole the images, locate alternative images for which permission was granted, and reprint the Employee Instruction Booklet.

Write a memo to your team about the above situation. Follow all instructions below and make sure you have also completed the unit reading:

• Your wording must be professional: give facts, explain ramifications, and refrain from emotional writing.
• Do not name the guilty employees or even specify their jobs; the idea is to explain the situation, not to write anything that could leave you open to a future lawsuit.

Forcefield Energy Inc. is a public corporation registered in the State of Ohio to provide heavy-duty and aeroderivative gas turbines for utilities, independent power producers, and industrial applications for customers in the United States. The primary goal of the company is to maximize stockholder wealth by making financial and investment decisions that would increase cash flows and stock price. Last year, the company’s stock price fell by 12% because of cash flow uncertainties, competitive markets, and unethical actions. The board of directors of the company has hired Joseph Sabatino, MBA to head the corporate finance department. Sabatino graduated from UC in 2016 with a master’s degree in Strategic management. He has worked in the energy sector for 5 years and has experience in capital markets and financial institutions. To achieve the stated wealth maximization goal of Forcefield Energy, Sabatino has suggested to the board of directors of the company to expand its operations outside the United States to diversify risk, increase market share, and improve free cash flows. Forcefield Energy wants you to help them answer the following questions:

Week 8 Assignment – Project Proposal: WBS and Project Schedule

Overview

In the assignment due in Week 5, you  defined key portions of your project. Now, it is time to develop a work  breakdown structure (WBS) and project schedule for your project. Note: Please use your project from the Week 5 assignment to complete this assignment. For this assignment, you will  create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). To create your WBS, you may use  MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, or any other visual format that allows for  graphical elements to be included. (See Figure 4.4 from Chapter 4 of  your Project Management: The Managerial Process textbook). Alternatively, you may use a coded format using MS Word. (See Exhibit 4.1 – Coding the WBS from Chapter 4 of your Project Management: The Managerial Process textbook as an example. The example is in MS Project format, but the same could be done in MS Excel). 

Instructions 

Each of the following should be included in your WBS submission: 

1. Create a WBS which contains graphical elements of the project  scope including project, major deliverables, and supporting  deliverables. WBS should be easy to read and contain consistent  formatting throughout.
2. Create a depiction of the project within the WBS.     
   • One Level 1 is provided describing the complete project.
   • Three Level 2s are provided describing major deliverables.
   • Three Level 3s are provided describing supporting deliverables.
   • Two Level 4s providing the lowest manageable responsibility level.
3. For each of the identified deliverables (identified in the four  levels from item #2), create a project schedule containing all  activities from levels 1–4. Each activity should contain a start and end  date and list resources required to complete the project.
4. Provide a minimum of three pieces of information that need to be  communicated to stakeholders. For each of the three pieces—which creates  an example of a project network— you should address who will be  targeted; when they will receive the communication; what will  be communicated; and how it will be communicated.

The Melnyk (2019) describes how to access guidelines.  Review the data bases and search for one clinical practice guideline that interests you.  If your identified clinical problem and PICOT lend themselves to a clinical practice guideline, you may want to choose a clinical practice guideline related to your clinical problem and PICOT.  It may be more than possible that there is not a clinical practice guideline that is related to your identified clinical problem and PICOT…..that is more than fine……then choose a clinical practice guideline that is simply of interest to you. 
   A. Name the guideline.
   B. Name the resource (database)  which housed this practice guideline.
   C. State the strength of the guideline based on the validity and reliability of its recommendation.
