Explain how their chosen national healthcare issue/stressor may also impact your work setting and what (if anything) is being done to address the national healthcare issue/stressor.
Discussion: Review of Current Healthcare Issues
If you were to ask 10 people what they believe to be the most significant issue facing healthcare today, you might get 10 different answers. Escalating costs? Regulation? Technology disruption?
These and many other topics are worthy of discussion. Not surprisingly, much has been said in the research, within the profession, and in the news about these topics. Whether they are issues of finance, quality, workload, or outcomes, there is no shortage of changes to be addressed.
In this Discussion, you examine a national healthcare issue and consider how that issue may impact your work setting. You also analyze how your organization has responded to this issue.
To Prepare:
- Review the Resources and select one current national healthcare issue/stressor to focus on.
- Reflect on the current national healthcare issue/stressor you selected and think about how this issue/stressor may be addressed in your work setting.
By Day 3 of Week 1
Post a description of the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected for analysis, and explain how the healthcare issue/stressor may impact your work setting. Then, describe how your health system work setting has responded to the healthcare issue/stressor, including a description of what changes may have been implemented. Be specific and provide examples.
By Day 6 of Week 1
Respond to at least two of your colleagues on two different days who chose a different national healthcare issue/stressor than you selected. Explain how their chosen national healthcare issue/stressor may also impact your work setting and what (if anything) is being done to address the national healthcare issue/stressor.

How does the film’s presentation of space cue and/or constrain, or frustrate, or even mislead, the viewers attempt to reconstruct the story?
46 Pap2 Summ22
Consider Bordwell’s discussion of space in film. Elaborate on how space is used in Wall-E (Stanton) You should discuss the composition of screen space, story space, the dynamics of off-screen vs. on screen space, editing space vs. stage space, and mise-en-scene. As you are watching the film, ask yourself the following questions:
- Are there any consistencies in the use of screen space through the film?
-Is the action presented on screen or is it construed as coming from an off-screen space?
-How does the film’s presentation of space cue and/or constrain, or frustrate, or even mislead, the viewers attempt to reconstruct the story?
-How is the space of the action presented through the arrangement of the mise-en-scene?
-How does the film’s editing contribute to our sense of where things (characters, objects, sets) are positioned in the film?

Explain cultural competence and its relevance to health care management.
Based on the scenario in the Vila Health: Conflict Resolution media activity, create the type of PowerPoint presentation you would give to hospital leadership to prepare them to deal with situations such as the one in the media activity. Create a 5-10 minute audio recording in which you present the information in your PowerPoint deck.
Introduction
Conflict is inevitable in any organization, in any industry, and at any level. Leaders must be ready and able to properly address conflict when it arises to minimize disruptions and minimize negative impact to employees. It is also important to remember that not all conflict is negative. It can minimize or prevent groupthink, which happens when team members are more concerned with cohesiveness and avoiding conflict than they are with high performance.
As a health care leader, you will be called upon to resolve conflicts in your team and within your organization. You will need to manage conflicts that involve you and also handle situations where you were not present and were not involved. The media piece in the Vila Health: Conflict Resolution activity presents a scenario that you will review. After the review, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation, accompanied by an audio recording, that you would give to hospital leadership to train them on how to handle situations such as the one portrayed in the media activity.
Preparation
Conflict is inevitable among members of any team, but especially during high stress situations, such as sometimes occur in health care. As a health care leader, you will be called upon to resolve conflict on your team and within your organization. Not only will you have to manage conflict that occurs with you directly, but you also will have to handle conflict situations where you were not involved and not present.
Before beginning this assessment, complete the Vila Health: Conflict Resolution media simulation.
Instructions
Create a PowerPoint deck with speaking notes for a presentation you would give to hospital leadership to prepare them to handle situations such as the one in the Vila Health: Conflict Resolution simulation. When you have created your PowerPoint deck, create an audio recording in which you present the information in your PowerPoint deck.
You are free to organize your presentation in whatever way you like. The following outline describes one way to structure your PowerPoint presentation:
Cover slide: One slide that includes the name and number of the course, the name of the assessment, submission date, and your name and contact information.
Introduction slide: One slide that provides a brief overview of conflict resolution as it relates to the incident described in the Vila Health simulation. This is the elevator speech of the simulation and captures an overview in a list format. Provide two short paragraphs in the speaking notes to support the points made in the list.
Background slide: One slide that explains the background of the incident described in the Vila Health simulation.
Analysis of the situation: A section of two slides that explains how a lack of cultural competence can compound already stressful situations and impede collaboration.
Describe the communication techniques that were used in this simulation that should be avoided in situations that involve diverse cultures.
Communication slide 1: One slide that lists at least two communication strategies that leadership can use to help the organization resolve conflicts like the one in the simulation. These should be communication strategies that hospital leadership should promote within the organization going forward to resolve conflicts like this in the future.
Communication slide 2: One slide that explains the role of relationships in communication.
You may wish to discuss relationships between leaders and followers and leaders overseeing teams.
Communication slide 3: One slide that explains the role of communication in teamwork and collaboration.
Application of literature to the case study: One slide that recommends strategies that could be implemented to improve the relationships between nursing and housekeeping in the Vila Health simulation.
Summary: One slide that sums up the situation in the Vila Health simulation.
References: This section should list, in APA format, the scholarly references used to support the communication strategies for conflict resolution and the role of relationships in communication.
For the recorded presentation:
Use Kaltura or another software application to create an audio recording that accompanies the PowerPoint presentation. See Audio and Video in this Course in Tools and Resources for audio and video options.
Do not read directly from the slides; instead, contribute additional information or elaboration on the content provided. You may find it useful to write a detailed outline, a script, or speaker notes on the slides as a reference for creating your audio recording.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Length: The recorded presentation should be between 5–10 minutes in length.
References: Cite at least three references from peer-reviewed journals, in addition to your textbook.
Format: Use current APA style and formatting for references and citations. Refer to Evidence and APA on Campus for more information.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Submit your PowerPoint presentation and a link or file for the audio recording in the assignment area. If you use Kaltura, refer to Using Kaltura for directions for recording and uploading your presentation in the courseroom.

Identify the hard and soft technology used for both the domestic and global environments of your company.
Course Objectives:
Students will become familiar with business theories and approaches relating to various business environments (Domestic, Global, Technological, Political-Legal, Socio-Cultural, and Economic).
Students will evaluate the business environments and practices of selected companies.
Students will evaluate the business environments of a company identified as a “worst” company to learn why it is not successful.
Students will apply successful company strategies and business theory to recommend a successful strategy for the “worst” company.
The technological environment includes how the rapid pace of change in production processes and product innovation affect a business. The technological environment also consists of what affects the technology and which can create new products, new markets, and new marketing opportunities. This week you’ll begin to identify barriers for your chosen “Worst” company. Continue to Lesson 4 for more information and details.
LO – 4 – Given a chosen company, the student will detect and evaluate the company’s hard and soft technology using both the Domestic and Global environments of the company.
Prompt:
For your chosen worst company write a paper covering the following:
Identify the hard and soft technology used for both the domestic and global environments of your company. This is not about computers or software; see Lesson.
Identify the technology barriers to your chosen company in both environments.
Discuss how the company can overcome these barriers.
Evaluate the strategy used and how the company should protect its technology.
Instructions: Also see Attachments.
Organize your paper using topic headings (APA format).
This paper will contribute a portion your Final Simulation Project, detailing the items above.

What changes, if any, would you make in the classroom arrangement?
Management Plan: Section 2
Mapping a classroom often gives one insight into the nature of the student-teacher interaction. Think about a classroom you have observed in person or in videos and make a sketch of the teacher’s classroom and have and then trace the teacher’s traffic patterns during the lesson.
Consider the following questions for mapping.
Where did the teacher spend the most time? Least time? Were any students ignored? Were there specific reasons for little or no teacher interaction with these students?
Did the classroom arrangement influence the teachers’ movement? What changes need to be made in the walking pattern? What changes, if any, would you make in the classroom arrangement?
Room arrangement map, or maps for different types of activities including a student seating arrangement, teacher desk, resources, displays, etc. You should include a written explanation of your choice of arrangement(s). Use computer software for visuals.
Explain one map for the type of activity and how it will work.
Classroom Rules — How are they arrived at? What might they include? How are they communicated to students, parents, administrators, etc.? What is your policy about the hall passes?
