Describe the role of Team Leader and how you will fulfill that role.
Over the last few weeks, you have learned how to start identifying the roles and skills needed to build an effective team. You have also discovered methods for selecting and evaluating potential candidates. Now it is time to put your team-building techniques into practice by participating in a case study with real employees from Joe Gibbs Racing! This assignment gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of actual team building techniques and leadership qualities. In addition, this assignment prepares you to complete your final course assignment, A Report for Vice President’s Approval of your team, due in Week 10.
Scenario
Imagine that you work at JGR. The CEO has tasked you with being the Team Leader for a committee that will plan a one-day summer team-building retreat. All JGR employees will be attending the event. The purpose of the retreat is to foster unity, trust, and cohesion between the organization’s employees. The event will start with a welcome and introduction, and then everyone will break out into group team-building sessions. The whole team will reconvene for a company-wide lunch, followed by a keynote speech.
As the Team Leader for the event planning committee, your job is to choose four other JGR employees to be on your committee.
Instructions
Download the Week 7 JGR Roles and Employees [DOCX].
In the Week 7 document, read the four role descriptions, Logistics, Budgeting, Programming, and MC/Host. For this assignment, you will choose four team members to fill these team roles.
Watch the Week 7 Strayer Talk, Building Your Team: Finding the Right Balance, which describes the 10 JGR candidates you may choose from for your Fantasy Team. Brief information on the candidates is also provided in the Week 7 document.
Complete a 10–12 slide PowerPoint presentation in which you do the following:
1. Describe the role of Team Leader and how you will fulfill that role.
Explain your skills and personal strengths needed to be an effective team leader.
Think about your personal DiSC assessment results from JGR100. What is your DiSC work style, and how will you select team members to complement your skills?
What will you be responsible for as Team Leader? What will you handle personally, and what will you delegate to other members of your team?
2. Select a candidate for each of the four roles described above, and justify your selections.
Review the candidates by viewing the Week 7 Strayer talk and the document JGR Employee Profiles.
Consider how each choice’s particular skills and personality will help them perform their role successfully.
How do these team members’ strengths complement yours? What skills and/or personality traits do they have that will help your team in areas where you feel challenged?
Explain how chosen team members complement you in more than one case.
3. Create 10–12 Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) slides for the JGR CEO in which you present the team you have put together for the one-day summer team-building retreat.
Include a title slide and reference slide, in addition to the required slides (not included in the 10–12 slide count).
Include speaker notes or record audio for each slide content.
Use specific phrases, ideas, and quotes from the Strayer Videos, Coach’s Huddle, Weekly Readings, and/or Discussion to explain and support your thoughts.
Write in a professional manner using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and SWS.
Submission Requirements
Check your assignment for grammatical errors and clarity.
Reach out to your instructor if you have any questions.
Submit your presentation to the assignment in Week 7.
This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards. For assistance and information, please refer to the Strayer Writing Standards link in the left-hand menu of your course. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

Explain what would happen if we eliminated the microbiome from someone.
In a one to two page answer, discuss the following:
- We are increasingly aware of the importance of the microbiome to our bodies.
- Explain what would happen if we eliminated the microbiome from someone.
- Discuss whether or not researchers have a model organism that doesn’t have a microbiome.
- If so, identify have we learned from these model organisms
Is there a theoretical model or framework discussed?
During this session, we looked at several topics on Strategic IT planning and strategy. We examined researchers, models, and issues in the area, and as you get closer to starting your own dissertation, you will need to choose a topic in your first dissertation class DSRT-736, so it is essential to start preparing.
This week, let us take a look at some topics to consider, and by the end of the week, we could have several ideas for dissertation topics. Since you have already examined several research articles, another way would be to examine previous dissertations in these areas. Visit the University library, go to the Dissertation Database, and locate an interesting topic on IT Strategy, or examine a model presented this term. Here are some pointers that will help critically evaluate some viable topics.
• Is the topic attainable for a first-time dissertation student?
• Is the problem rooted in the literature?
• Is the research empirical, i.e., is there a survey, is there an interview guide, has the data been analyzed via some statistical tool?
• Is there a theoretical model or framework discussed?
Discuss the topic, the problem the model has been used in the research, and any present findings.
Do not read the entire dissertation, as the abstract and chapter one introduction should give a clear understanding of the research.

Explain the differences between a change in supply and a change in quantity supplied.
1. Explain the differences between a change in supply and a change in quantity supplied. (2 pts)
2. Indicate whether each of the following situations would shift the supply curve to the left, to the
right, or not at all. (3 pts) a. An increase in price of inputs b. An increase in the number of firms in the market c. An increase in the price of substitutes in production d. A decrease in the current price of the product e. A decrease in productivity f. A decrease in the expected future price of the product
3. If there is excess demand in a perfectly competitive market, does the government need to
intervene to restore the equilibrium price and quantity? Why or why not? (2 pts)
4. Suppose the equilibrium price and quantity of bicycles is determined at $40 and 200 units, respectively. For some reason, the market price of the bicycles initially increases to $60 and then decreases to $20. How will these deviations from the equilibrium price be corrected in a perfectly competitive market? Explain with the help of suitable diagrams. (3 pts)
5. In each of the following situations, graphically show and explain what will happen to the
equilibrium price and the equilibrium quantity for a particular product, which is an inferior good. (5 pts)
a. The population decreases and productivity increases b. Income increases and the price of inputs increase c. The number of firms in the market decreases and income decreases d. Consumer preference decreases and the expected future price increases e. The price of a substitute in consumption increases and the price of a substitute in production
increases
6. Using graphs, explain how the equilibrium price and quantity of MP3 will change when: (5 pts) a. The demand curve for MP3 players shifts to the left and the supply curve for MP3 players
shift to the right. b. The demand curve for MP3 players shifts to the right and the supply curve for MP3 players
shift to the left, but the supply curve shifts more than the demand curve. c. The demand curve for MP3 players shifts to the right and the supply curve for MP3 players
shift to the left, but the supply curve shifts less than the demand curve. d. Both the demand curve and the supply curve for MP3 players shift to the left but the
demand curve shifts more than the supply curve. e. Both the demand curve and the supply curve for MP3 players shift to the right but the
supply curve shifts more than the demand curve.
