Aim and Outline
Aim: This study aims to determine the extent to which economic inequality may impact the mental
health of immigrants. The study will be undertaken based on the following objectives.
Outline
To identify the economic status of immigrants concerning employment/job opportunities, wage rates,
education and standards of living.
Compared to natives, immigrants have lower job opportunities and higher unemployment rates.
Besides, those who are working may receive discriminate wage rates due to their lower levels of
education, which eventually translates to lower standards of living (The Migration Observatory, 2021).
• To determine mental health illnesses that affect immigrants.
• To examine the association between economic inequality and mental health illness on
immigrants.
• To determine economic interventions to support the mental health and well-being of
immigrants.
