Direct Variation Application & Polynomial Rounding Numbers Discussion

PART 1:  Use the internet or newspaper to find and share two examples in real life that vary directly with each other and two examples in real life that vary inversely with each other.  Create your own application for each of direct, inverse, and joint variation, and solve them.  1). Use your calculator to find the extrema of the following polynomial rounding numbers to the nearest hundredth.    y = 6×3 + 6×2 – 8x – 1 2). Note that the cubic in part 1 has 3 zeroes.  Create a third-degree polynomial function with one zero at 3. List the zeros of the function. Use the internet or newspaper find a nonlinear scatter plot from a real application.  Be sure an image of it using that leftmost icon in the tools above.   Does your scatter plot resemble a quadratic, cubic, or quartic function, or none of those?
