Do you believe recreational drug use adversely affects the brain?

Do you believe recreational drug use adversely affects the brain? If so, is there such thing a recreational use of cocaine, alcohol, crack, or marijuana? Also, do you think that making some of these drugs legal will increase or decrease crime and the likelihood of developing addictions? Please explain your answers to each of the questions.
