The book selected for this review should relate to the Crisis that you have chosen to study in depth as part of the Hypothetical Case Study. This book, if approved by your instructor, may be used in the Hypothetical Case Study: Part 5 as one of the seven (7) resources required.

Part Six: By the end of Week 5, you will write a book review based upon a current publication related to the selected crisis being studied in the Hypothetical Case Study Project and Report (See Recommended Book List). Other current books may be used for this assignment with instructor approval. Prior approval from the instructor is required. The book review consists of a minimum of three (3) pages. Typically 3-5 pages. The first page should be a brief abstract of the following:
• Title
• Author
• Publisher, Date of Publication
• Abstract overview of Table of Contents and other selected information from the book

Also, include a two-page Summary and Critique of the book’s content. Here the learner will present his or her personal, critical estimate and discussion of the book.

The Book Reflection Paper consists of a brief summary and your reflection on the concepts discussed in the book. Utilization of your text to reflect continued engagement with material being studied as it applies to the content in the book selection is permitted. The consultation of other outside scholarly resources is also acceptable. It is imperative to cite all resources appropriately including book selected, text, and other scholarly resources. Include all resources in a bibliography utilizing APA.

Remember to include an introduction, well developed content, and a strong conclusion. Show significant evidence of analysis and/or synthesis by incorporating your own thoughts and experiences as it relates to the content being studied.

No more than 1/3 of the paper should be used to summarize the book content. The remainder of the paper should focus on your thoughts and response to the reading. You may include, but are not limited to, the following kinds of information in the reflection section:

What was your overall reaction to the book?
Did you agree with the author/s premise? Why or why not?
How did the reading have direct application to your family and/or Crisis being studied? Explain
What concepts were most helpful to you in understanding your family and/or Crisis being studied? In what ways?
Would you recommend the book to others? Why or why not?
