How would you analyze this situation using this week’s concepts of patient consent and empowerment/disempowerment?

“In one of this week’s readings, “Empowerment in the Clinical Setting,” Karen Lebacqz briefly talks about how studies have shown that doctors are in general more willing to override the wishes of patients who are women or who are racial minorities than they are of patients who are men or white. Why do you think this is? How would you analyze this situation using this week’s concepts of patient consent and empowerment/disempowerment?
