You are going to apply for an investment analyst position at a top mutual fund. To put you above the competition
and show your knowledge and skills in portfolio management, you will prepare a report on a hypothetical equity
portfolio which you managed in the 2020/2021 financial year.
To complete this, it is assumed that you constructed an equity portfolio on 1 July 2020, had held the portfolio
from 01 July 2020 to 01 July 2021, and evaluated its performance on 01 July 2021. As the hypothetical equity
portfolio was constructed on 01 July 2020, so you can do the analysis using the relevant data available before 01
July 2020 to support your stock selection and asset allocation decisions. 01 July 2020 to 01 July 2021 is the
portfolio holding period, so you can use the data available during this period to complete the portfolio
performance evaluation task.
