Is human thinking rational?

The essay should explore the degree to which human thinking is well captured by normative or logical models. It can be primarily informed by research in judgment and decision making, but can also be informed by research on reasoning and hypothesis testing. The two-system perspective may well figure centrally in this essay, and a critical evaluation of this theoretical framework should be offered.
