Management Information Systems concepts to develop a comprehensive, solutions-based approach to an organizational problem of their choosing

Option 1: Students (individually) will develop and prepare a final research project that utilizes Management Information Systems concepts to develop a comprehensive, solutions-based approach to an organizational problem of their choosing. The project will identify the issue at hand through critical analysis and research of end-user needs. Students will comprehensively evaluate all alternatives and approaches to solving the problem and will include the student’s recommendation(s) on which alternative best addresses the problem from multiple perspectives including end-user criteria, network integration, maintenance cost, and overall cost-benefit analysis to the firm.

The student will then develop a solution that addresses the problem, the needs of the end user, and ease of integration onto an existing IT platform and write a formal research paper on the development, findings, and results of the developed system. Students will then write an 8-10 page paper document with proper (APA/MLA) citations and formatting. Margins are to be set to 1” on all sides of the document and double-spaced with a 12-point, New Times Roman font. Any external sources coming into the paper are to be cited in text and included on a works cited page/bibliography. Cover pages, tables of content, large images/ screen captures, and works cited pages do not count toward the page requirement
