Police Misconduct

In other courses, you have studied the ?positive? school of criminology. The positive philosophy states that criminals commit crimes as a result of factors out of their control, such as addiction, unemployment, a bad upbringing, etc. Can ?positive? factors also be applied to incidents of police misconduct? Explain your reasoning. Do you think the police selection and employment process requires changes? How would a more culturally dynamic workforce be beneficial to police work?
