Task – Produce a report that details how you applied creative processes to develop an innovative and viable Travel and tour guide business idea.
The first section of your report should detail how individuals may use and apply creative processes to generate business ideas. Please include the following;
- What is meant by creativity and what creative processes individuals may use to develop business ideas.
- What creative processes you chose to apply to generate your idea and why you chose these processes.
The second section of your report should outline why your idea is innovative. Please include the following; - What is meant by innovation and what is innovative about your idea.
- Which of Drucker’s Innovation principles underpin the development of your idea. Please choose at least one principle.
Please include a table of contents and ensure you present your report with appropriate headings and sub-headings in a clear and professional format.
Ensure you support your discussion throughout with appropriate theory and examples.
Word Count – 2,500 words (+/- 10%)
Knowledge and understanding:
• Level of knowledge and understanding shown regarding creativity and what creative processes individuals may use to develop business ideas.
• Level of knowledge and understanding shown regarding the concept of innovation and what is innovative about their chosen idea.
• Level of knowledge and understanding shown regarding chosen Drucker’s principle(s)
Intellectual skills:
• The idea has been clearly explained and developed in regards to its innovative element.
• Evaluation shown of the creative processes used and why they were chosen to generate their idea.
• Evidence that additional research outside lectures/tutorial has been undertaken. Theory drawn from a range of sources (text, journal, news
etc).
• Theory has been developed, integrated and evaluated to show understanding and criticality.
Practical skills:
• Use of persuasive content to convince the reader the business idea is innovative.
• Inclusion of an ideas notebook appendix equivalent to 2 pages that demonstrates the process of generating and/or refining an idea.
Transferable skills
• Accurate use of referencing.
• Report is well structured and formatted appropriately.
• Report adheres to the word count.
• Appropriate use of examples.
