Suboptimizing Discussion

I’m working on a business law discussion question and need support to help me learn. Suboptimizing is knowingly accepting less than the best possible outcome of a situation at your place of employment; is this an acceptable method of solving problems or making decisions, if so why if not why? Can sub-optimization be avoided.
