What is “gender” how does religion contribute to its fabrication and why must we take into account the diversity of religious constructions of gender when studying women and religion?

Many scholars agree that religion contributes significantly to the construction of gender. This has led some of
them to conclude that religions are, by essence, a bastion of male domination. However, recent scholarship insists on the fact that we have to give greater consideration to the diversity of religions across cultures and their varied
constructions of gender. What is “gender” how does religion contribute to its fabrication and why must we take into account the diversity of religious constructions of gender when studying women and religion? Don’t forget
to illustrate and to support your thesis with specific examples from either our case study on the Apache or our
case study on the Haudenosaunee and to take the time to place each of them in their appropriate contexts. You can only use the two sources that I have attached to this order, as there can’t be any outside sources for this assignment. Please include page numbers in your citations, and if you cite from the Lecture Notes, please cite in this format (Campion 2021, Lecture 10b) and indicate which lecture it was. Please use the author-date system. In the body of your text, you can put the last name of the author,
the year and the page number in parentheses (Bibbs 2010, 75). If you use this system, do not use footnotes.
