Analyze and compare the financial reports and related information of two publicly quoted (listed) companies and express their findings in the form of a report to an identified user of accounting information.

Introduction

The purpose of this assessment is to enable students to obtain, analyze and compare the financial reports and related information of two publicly quoted (listed) companies and express their findings in the form of a report to an identified user of accounting information. A good financial analysis report requires a proper understanding (and reading) of the financial statements, their elements, the related terminology, working capital management, cost of capital, capital structure, and risk appraisal. The social-ethical investing (i.e., critical evaluation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosures in corporate communications, e.g., annual reports, Web sites, social media) should also be considered.

Details

Acting as a financial advisor or a potential investor (who is considering the purchase of shares in the company in question. The investor is looking for both income and capital growth and has a modest sum to invest in the company), you are required to select two major non-financial quoted companies from either:

Both companies should be in the same industry group, of similar size and should be working in the same market for which you will research, analyse and evaluate their consolidated financial results. You are required to produce a report evaluating the financial performance and position of these two companies as evidenced by their most recently published annual accounts.

You are advised to spend some time choosing your companies. Make sure you select two, which allows you to satisfy well the requirements of the assignment. Please note that it is not necessary for the companies you choose to be performing well; your task is to evaluate their performance and position objectively. Your report should include a comparison of the company’s most recently published annual report with that for the five previous years. Your report should also compare your subject company’s position and performance with that of one other comparable/competitor company, over the same period. Please note that an exact matching of year-ends is not required; it is acceptable to compare two companies even though one may have a December accounting year-end and the other a March accounting year-end.

Your choice of a main company and an appropriate comparator company is an integral feature of the assignment and will not be commented on by the module tutor or lecturers in advance of the report’s submission.

Explain the time complexity of the above program.

Input : [1,2,3,,4,………….., 20], Target sum of integers = 23

Output: [[3,20], [4,19], [5,18],…..[1,2,20],……… [1,2,3,17],……..[1,2,3,4,13],……] [e.g., all possible combinations of the integers that produce the target sum 23]

1. Implement the above subset sum problem.

2. Explain the time complexity of the above program.

Write a paper of approximately 1200 words (4 pages) on anyone peer-reviewed essay or chapter that discusses either realism in general or one of the films on the syllabus.

The purpose of this assignment is to build the essential research skills of: summarizing and analyzing someone else’s argument putting it into dialogue with your own ideas paraphrasing properly (in other words: translating something into your own words)quoting authors fluidly and citing their work correctly Write a paper of approximately 1200 words (4 pages) on anyone peer-reviewed essay or chapter that discusses either realism in general or one of the films on the syllabus. You may use any appropriate text on the syllabus, or you may find the essay on your own in academically published books or peer-reviewed journals. The first half of your paper should answer the following questions:what is the author’s main argument? how do they make their argument? What evidence do they cite? do you agree, disagree, kind of agree? Why?In addition: the second half of your paper should either challenge the author’s claims orexpand their argument. You may do this by discussing a scene that is different from ones that they discuss, offering your own reading of the same scene, or applying their argument to a completely different-but-relevant (realist!) film.Use this article https://www.jstor.org/stable/3332479

Why, according to the authors, is it important to “connect the parts” in a piece of writing?

1. Why, according to the authors, is it important to “connect the parts” in a piece of writing? Please state this in your own words; do not use a direct quote from the chapter. 2. Which of the four strategies identified in this chapter do you think could be most effectively used to improve your own writing, and why? Please explain your reasoning in detail and offer specific examples to illustrate your point.

Utilize the first 3 parts of McKibben’s Falter to consider how “For at least a century, in our high consumer paradise, we’ve devoutly believed that more is better” (McKibben 172). And how that devotion has caused the world we inhabit, or will inhabit.

BACKGROUND

In our first unit, we looked at how philanthropy uses rhetoric to mask their true intents, and how communities can obtain a substantial life through organizing and indigenous knowledge. Next, we turned to environmentalist Bill McKibben’s Falter: Has the Human Game Begun to Play Itself Out? In his first three parts “Size of the Board,” “Leverage,” and “The Name of the Game,” McKibben lays out the problems as he sees them, “Put simply, between ecological destruction and technological hubris, the human experiment is now in question” (McKibben 1).

ASSIGNMENT

For this second essay I would like you to utilize the first 3 parts of McKibben’s Falter to consider how “For at least a century, in our high consumer paradise, we’ve devoutly believed that more is better” (McKibben 172). And how that devotion has caused the world we inhabit, or will inhabit.

To find a focus, review your active reading (yes you should be annotating your book), and write down a few of the ideas, examples, questions, etc. that intrigued you. Your essay will need to focus on specific aspects of the text to develop a through line for your essay. A through line holds the essay together allowing all the parts to relate. You can develop a through line by repeating key words and phrases. For example, if you focused on how our desire for more fuel is a cause for global warming, then “fuel” and “global warming,” or some form, would appear in every paragraph. Furthermore, every paragraph would be devoted to arguing for this “cause.”

Plot the temperatures at nodes 1 and 3, and the rate of heat loss as functions of thermal conductivity and heat generation rate, and discuss the results

Reconsider Prob. 5–65. Using EES (or other) software, investigate the effects of the thermal conductivity and the heat generation rate on the temperatures at nodes 1 and 3, and the rate of heat loss from the top surface. Let the thermal conductivity vary from 10 W/m·K to 400 W/m·K and the heat generation rate from 105 W/m3 to 108 W/m3 . Plot the temperatures at nodes 1 and 3, and the rate of heat loss as functions of thermal conductivity and heat generation rate, and discuss the results.Prob. 5–65.Consider steady two-dimensional heat transfer in a long solid body whose cross section is given in Fig. P5–65. The temperatures at the selected nodes and the thermal conditions on the boundaries are as shown. The thermal conductivity of the body is k = 180 W/m·K, and heat is generated in the body uniformly at a rate of ? = 107 W/m3 . Using the finite difference method with a mesh size of ?x = ?y = 10 cm, determine(a) the temperatures at nodes 1, 2, 3, and 4 and(b) the rate of heat loss from the top surface through a 1-m-long section of the body.ATTACHMENTS

Using the video above! @ Time stamp (to solve 1-3 use the mean and standard deviation mentioned in the video) 1) * 6:34 The speaker converts x=250 to z=1.67 using the z-score formula. Using the z-table in back of book he determines P(X>250) = .0475. If you used the NORMALCDF(?,?,?,?) what would your answer be taken 5 decimal places (the answer is slightly different)?

2) * 7:04 The speaker determines P(250<x<350) = .0475 by using the complement rule, etc. We understand that 250 and 350 are the boundaries. Again, using NORMALCDF(?,?,?,?) what would your answer be taking 5 decimal places. 3) * 8:42 The speaker states he need to find “x” based on given the Probability, “the bottom 5%” based on 95% probability. The speaker calculates 150.5. In my lecture video I refer to this as INVNORM(?,?,?) where we are doing the opposite of what we have already done (before we were given x and were finding probability. Now we have the probability (95%) and need to find x – in essence going backwards). Take your INVNORM answer 2 decimal places.1) P(X>250) = answer should be 5 decimal places using NORMALCDF.2) P(250<x<350) = answer should be 5 decimal places. using NORMALCDF3) Given the “bottom 5% what is the value of x must take 2 decimal places?
